My bad once again lol, I guess I need to read more. It does sound amazing with stock downpipes though, wonder what it would be with catless. That would be the true test then to see if there is any rasp.

As for the V8 comment, you need to go hear the M3 V8, it's deep, but no where near what a V8 sounds like.

+1, I'm looking to get this if rasp is minimal with catless downpipes..

also, a stock m3 doesn't even sound like a v8 it's so quiet. S5's v8, that's a good sound.

Here's HPF's video of the exhaust. Skip to 8:48 in the video to hear it rev. I think this car has VRSF downpipes:

Being inside the shop changes a lot.

I would also like a cat less video. Time will tell.

WTB video of this exhaust paired with cat less DPs, under load (not just revving in a drive way).

The video above has catless downpipes (VRSF DPs) and it has video of it driving and revving. Just skip to 8:48 and watch until the end.

I can't tell if it's raspy or not, lol. BTW, are you sure that car has cat less DPs?

hard to tell how it really sounds since GoPro kinda muffles the sound.

Yeah, I'm almost positive. I saw the guy in the video's post on here about going to HPF and getting it installed and test driving it. His username is something like "Wedge" and it has numbers at the end. He said he had catless downpipes.

The GoPro was not in the case and if you can hook this video up to a nice home theater system you can really hear the real sound.

I had a great time putting this exhaust in with chris. Yes that stud was a huge pain in the ass, but shit happens. After installing one of these and taking a test drive after, I know i would love to own this system.

I probably should not have even brought up the comparison. I have driven a stock M3 v8, and I think this exhaust sounds better than that. Does it sound better than a RS4 with magnaflows or milltek, hell no. Bottom line: I love how this exhaust sounds especially, in the 4500-6000 rpm range.
The offer still stands: Anyone near the Louisville, KY area is more than welcome to come on over for a test drive
The bourbon tasting will of course be after the drive

few questions. how much louder than stock is it (the louder the better)? do you get the gurgling/popping noise when you let off the gas? are you planning to get catless dp's anytime soon?

second that most ppl in here have catless, if u stock dps and this hpf exhaust maybe u are okay, but as somebody told we need time to see how other reviews will be. most important is to hear in person, wonder anybody from EU buying it or no....

It is noticably luder than stock, but not raspy. There is some minor gurgling/ popping but just when your in first and let off the gas. Ex when you're between to city block lights, sometimes I just leave it first.

I love that sound when you let off of the throttle, the pops and gurgles always turns heads. I went to a cars and coffee not to long ago and the supercar(ferrari's, lambo's and porches) owners were all coming over to see what car was making that roar and they were surprised to see that it was my fbo 335i with the gen 1 exhaust. I love it and have decided to leave it as is(no resonator)...after getting the thumbs up by the supercar owners. I can't wait to see how it sounds when I put HPF's single on! As soon as I get the kit I will be posting videos of the single turbo with the gen 1 exhaust. I've found a shop willing to put it on and Dyno it. Now im just waiting on Kirk to hook it up...those that are headed to mfest..enjoy!
