In this case its a small pressure converter / vacuum draw. Once blocked off but left connected the need for the EGR and associated pipe work has gone. The car still thinks its working the actuator for the EGR so doesn't throw a light. The only car/engine that doesn't overly like the EGR removal is the 2.5l 6 cylinder 25d engine found in such cars like the 525d That needs removing then mapping out Regards Tom

Just a stupid question, why can't we just cut power to the EGR valve by unplugging the connector to it? Besides a check engine light what can happen ?
