I don't know how people can even compare the interior of the E9x to the CTS-V. Are we looking at the same cars? The Cadillac interior seems to be a lot more posh than any E9x I've sat in (including the one in my garage).

I think the interior is great. My dad had a 2008 CTS back when it first came out(Sept'07)and the interior was a huge leap over anything being made in America. Thats the first try. Imagine how good the new CTS is gonna look when it comes out in a few years? Have you guys seen the interior of the new ATS? How about that hideous interior of the new 3 series? Its all about the emblem on the hood for most. As long as there is a european marque on the hood, the interior looks amazing regardless how shitty it is.

I seriously think people need to go to an Auto Show or a Cars & Coffee meet and sit inside the CTS-V. Yeah it's a bit blingy, but the interior is so much more posh than what you will see in any BMW. I think if you're going to criticize the car, at least sit inside of it and experience it yourself instead of relying on the old "all U.S cars have crap interiors" stereotype.

Have you ever heard a saying that you can't judge a book by its cover. The caddy interior is much improved specially in CTS-V form and I will be the first one to tell you that from my experience with them. But trust me those that have sat in CTS-V for long time or owned or drove it on track or daily will also tell you without any bias. That there is still a difference in build quality between 5 series/3 series and CTS-V .
For example the buttons do feel a bit flimsy and the seats are not all that great for Recaros. Now not saying they are horrible but they are not as great as they could be when you compare them against other Recaro seats. The black looking extra shiny trim pieces all around center stack looks fine in a picture. But in person it looks a little plasticky and not look very high quality. Also, you must have misunderstood me I am not claiming that BMW's are Bentley's or anything and Caddy CTS-V is trash. Me and the OP both agree that there is fit and finish and quality of materials difference when you compare them side by side in favor of BMW. Either way no one is buying the CTS-V for their higher interior quality. But rather for a impressive performance potential at a bargain price. If they were that concerned about interior quality they would have gone with Audi or Lexus instead of CTS-V. Regardless I really like CTS-V specially the coupe.

Agree 100% NewYearsBoy. I love that picture of the CTS-V interior and was going to post it myself. I also really like the aggressive, unique exterior design of the CTS-V coupe. However, I heard the rear visibility in it was pretty rough. Still, if I could get this car for 12,500 off MSRP, I very well might pull the trigger on something like that. Is 12k off really attainable? And if so, is half that due to the 2013 models being released soon so you're buying the previous model year basically? If so, it's just adding in the last years depreciation. Built into the discount.

Looks like we just have different opinions. I was quite impressed be the handling of the CTS-V. It felt bigger and heavier than my 335i, yes, but it did not feel like it weighed 4,300 pounds.

I called a dealership this last Memorial Day weekend on a used 2012 CTS-V Coupe here in Scottsdale with 2200 miles.. I figured with it being close to the 2013's being released, the 2012's would be discounted maybe 6-7k due to automatic depreciation being a model year older. I also thought buying used with 2200 miles instead of new would drop it 6-7k. So, those projections for 12,500 off may have been accurate I thought. However, this dealership wanted $68,900 on a used 2012 model with 2200 miles!
Pretty ridiculous. I could buy brand-new at that price. So, that means I'll pretty much go with the new F32 335i's when they come out next year, or look to buy a 2013 Audi S5. I'll wait a bit either way though this year before I pull the trigger I think. |
