Anyone have any thoughts on these bulbs? If I were to get these, would I just get a set in style H7 and another set in style H3?
Hey Wycy....keep running across you!

You need H7's for low beam and high beams for a total of 4. Your fog lamps will be a H8. Does this answer your question?

I just bought my lamps for my '11 LCI E90.

AE's - Lux Angel Eyes Halogen

H7 = Hoen Titanium

H8 = Hoen Titanium. I also accidentally bought a set of MTech 4350k's as well.

Hoping the Hoen's match up well. Read good things about them and liked the pictures I saw. If not, I guess I'll go with MTech's like bluecrab. I'll post some pictures when I get them installed. The AE's are due to arrive this Wed.

Cheers!
Tom

I love your combo and it is exactly what I am after as well. I didn't want a blue tinge to it....I want it to look bright white and stock.

Bought the MTech H8's but bought Hoen's for the H7's. Wish I would have found your post before I bought because you were after the exact same result I am, but at least I have the pictures to be assured the MTech's will work if the Hoen's don't. Thanks for posting them!

I think I'm a little slow. So the low beams and the high beams are the exact same bulb? So to get a full set (excluding fogs), I'd just buy 2 sets of the H7's I linked?

You've got it!
Curious to see how you like them. I thought about getting the Philips bulbs as well.

Huh, interesting. How does it use the same bulbs for both? My old car had very different bulbs for low and high beams. Are these just high beam bulbs that the car runs at different voltages?

I feel like I sound like a total noob. That's because I am.

LOL. No worries. I'm a noob too. But your exactly right. The lighting module is providing different voltages. For our year of E90, we have the high beam bulb dimly lit for the daytime running lights. The lighting module is doing the same thing by reducing the voltage to the bulb. But if you were driving at night and turned on your high beams, the bulb is illuminated brilliantly. You can kinda get a feel for that too with the guys who have recoded their cars. There are a few different options regarding how bright the lights can be lit.

Finally found this link where I saw all the bulbs types for E90's. Couldn't find it last night when I wrote up this message to you. Go here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46758

That list is not true for all models. For example fog lights are h8's for e90lci 328xi. Go to autozone's website.

Also that low beam bulbcover is still mystery for me, can you buy one and install afterwards or is it integral part?
Have you ever figured out what that cover is?

Thinking about this exact setup but possibly using HIDs for the high beams. I know HIDs are blinding but it would be for the high beams and only used on empty, poorly lit roads.

Anyone ever do white halogens for low beams and fog lights, and HIDs for high beams? Can't find any pictures anywhere
