Manual of alpine suggests the same as you mentioned.

Is E90 trunk not more than 0.7?
The Electrical T/S parameter required to be able to work in IB effectively is 0.7. I think you might be confusing Qts with QTC alignment (for working in sealed cabs)

The Alpine won't work well in IB.

that video you posted! the excursions on that W7 seem very low, the beauty about the W7 is that you are meant to abuse the crap out of them as thats what they are built/known for!

im not saying that they are the best subs ever etc but your video compared to one i made of mine are completely different! and they are both 10W7 subs!

so your going for the Alpine one now instead? you selling the W7?? lol

I'm not sure that's what JL say lol

Yes they have good excursion but there not going to take abuse continuously without failure, nothing will. They do break though

lol! as long as you dont over power them then they would have no reason too! is that not the reason why people buy JL? for not only the performance of their products but also their build quality?

the excusions on the W7 are one of the main things that interested me in them!

in my opinion if you are going to under power a W7 then you may aswell not buy one, get something cheaper!

dont mean to offend anyone but i guess people have different views of why they buy JL products!

i guess its the feeling of knowing you have the power when you want it! its like having a a really powerful car, our roads in the UK dont permit you to drive fast continuously! BUT when you do get that opportunity! you know you have the power there to deliver!

Most Video's and examples of W7's i have seen have all had pretty big excursions!....Makkan felt a little underwhelmed by the W7 so this is what my discussion is based upon...from the video that he posted up, it seems like the W7 has a lot more to offer that what he was getting out of it is all

I got you what you mean.

Mr Singh, can you kindly recommend few 10 inch subs which works excellent in IB (SPL purposes).
After changing subs and loosing some money on it, I am left with very limited budget and little energy.

Well I will have to dump Alpine as well then.

Sumil
You are correct. I guess I did not feel brave at that time to play with bass boost and other features of the amp.

Looking at Rudz's W7, I can see how good this sub can be in terms of excursion. I have been quick to sell it on. So it is gone now.

Waiting for recommendation by Mr Singh on IB subs.

Not much out there, we do the Fi IB3 Series in 12", 15" and 18" variants. 10" cone is very limited with the amount of displacement on offer, this is the main aim - Displacement. We also have the Gladen Audio RS Line for lower power applications but again 12-15" models only.

The W7 should be fed a minimum 600w RMS to start really pumping....

I was very happy with mine.

Given the noise yours made I'd wonder how well the box was sealed? Or how the box was mounted..

I'll demo mine when it's back in mak..

Thanks Dave.
I fed it approx 500-600W RMS. I guess in my case my sub box was rubbish.

Look forward to hear your sound system.

Thanks Mr Singh. Really appreciate your input. I will consider 12 Fi IB3 once I got fed up with Alpine.

Ok, Sub is installed.
I have bought rear deck from ebay.

I had to cut a hole for 10 inch sub. And used MDF board to fit the sub there

This is how it looks

Sound is a lot better compared to sub box in the boot. Bass is clear and loud.

I have not applied any sound deadening in the boot yet, and there is minor rattling.

Alpine PDX 1.1000 is ideal if you have MS-8 / bit one or anything which can control the chracteristics of the bass. On Alpine amp, there is no bass boost or any other features, which makes it hard to integrate into system without DSP. I guess they have designed this amp to go with alpine HUs which can control the chracteristics of bass and sub volume.

heat kills L7's. You can punish them all you want, its the heat that eventually kills them.

You will require to take out
1- side trims. (Airbag tims)
2- Rear seat (folded if foldable)
3- 5 clips behind the seat (see 5 holes in the photo of the rear deck posted above)
4- Rear speakers out

Once you removed all that, pull rear deck toward you (toward the front of the car) and it will slide off.

HTH.

If you take the photo from the boot, you cannot see much of rear deck as there is metal sheet covering it.
