That was the Captain. I only drove the last two races against longboarder's supercharged m3 and Kent's 1000hp e46 m3 turbo.

N54s had their work cut out for them given all the fast BMWs there on Sunday!
Why do you have to exaggerate? His motor didn't explode.

Sweet videos! I wish they would hold one of these events up in Canada.

Shiv did you get your car fixed up in time to race? How was your MPH compared to the captain's ?

We have just been focusing on customer cars since the last airstrip event. My car was never going to run at this event. Hard to say how my car compares to CaptainInsano's since temps were a lot cooler at the last event. It's probably a little bit quicker since it ran more boost (25-26psi vs 23-24psi). Temps were pretty warm at this event so I like to err on the side of conservatism with customers. I made sure everyone was running good fuel and I even cleaned all their meth nozzles myself

Something inside the block exploded/broke/bent/etc. That would explain the noise, steam, smoke and rough running. No big deal. It happens to everyone pushing the limits of their hardware. I didn't expect anyone to believe that it literally exploded like a bomb. That only happens in TFATF movies.

No biggie. It will be back better and stronger, that's a fact. I'm jealous of what he's got planned for it, that's also a fact.

Do you/Shiv/anyone know if Terry is planning to do a teardown and build thread? I don’t think I’ve come across a true teardown thread on an N54 that grenaded, I’d be interested to see what exactly happened (my moneys on a piston expanding).

I'm sure Terry wont be keeping it a secret. He'll come out with what he does when the time comes.

Oh I thought I read you broke something internally and were rebuilding it up to race at this event.

He posted on n54tech his trans was popping out of gear in 5th over-revving the motor and finally something broke inside, but was able to limp it home. He bought an eBay motor for 3k to put in short term and will be sending his motor over to VAC for forged pistons, rods, and a ported cylinder head. Just in time for the new VT3 turbos.

Nope. Where did u hear that? Funny how rumors start. We never had an intention to race my personal car. The intention was to showcase actual customer cars since that is what people like to see.

It was in one of those epic FFTEC vs. Vargas threads that are now deleted. You or he said you floated valves or something and were rebuilding it for the race?

Guess I'll see some single turbo cars @ the next event.

Any single turbos going to no fly zone next month?
