We received the oem sample that we procured, so will be taking our measurements of the oem final drive asap (just waiting for a specialist oem tool to come in from Germany so we can remove the pinion!)

Just in! We have an almost new 135i/335i AT Bolted Small Diff Helical LSD sitting on the shelf just now. This was a return from a customer as he purchased the wrong fitment and only figured it out after bolting up the ring gear and it wouldn't fit correctly inside his pumpkin. It is basically brand new and unused.

Fitment - 135i/335i AT Bolted Small Diff
Condition - As-new, except some superficial surface rust marks (we've removed the rust, but there are still faint marks left behind) and markings where the ring gear bolts were torqued on. These markings will in no way affect the durability or functionality of the unit, but obviously we can't resell it as a brand new unit

Question for MFactory. Just received my shiny new LSD today. Looks like a beast!

I've been calling around for install estimates today and am getting a very wide range of estimates from $500 all the way up to $1000. I think some of these folks are not familiar with replacing the diff on an E90 (mine is the large bolted on variety).

What additional parts should I expect to have to pay for as part of the install and roughly how much should they cost???

The only "extras" should be items like diff bearings, oil seals and shims, which shouldn't cost much at all (maybe $100'ish or so?)

You will need axle seals, cover sealant, and diff oil, you cannot buy the bearings new or the shims. These rears are considered NON serviceable. Just install, check your backlash and hope its in spec...

My local drivetrain shop quoted be $650 here in S.F. area.
he has done a couple of Wavetrac and Quaife on E90s.

Told me to just get OEM seals because aftermarket are trash and 10 new bolts for the ring gear.

He said, in a 8:00 AM and it would be done the same day.

My install guy said bring the car, OEM seals and the 10 ring gear bolts.
He'd do the rest for about $650 complete.

Let me know the part number for the ring bolts my dealer and suppliers have no listing and yes oem seals are best. By non serviceable i mean u cannot buy the items to fully rebuild the units, the shims can be made but apparently from my research(and others,google it) the bearings are impossible to match aftermarket.. i hope these don't grenade... we'll all be hitting up car-part for new rears...
