Anyone local to Pittsburgh willing to lend a hand? I need a set of wheels to run for a week. I want to powder coat my current wheels and do not have my stockers any more.

hello everyone, just thought id introduce myself. My name is Brian and i currently drive a 04 G35 Coupe which im about to trade in next week for a 08 335i vert

. I also have a 87 E30 sedan which i daily drive.

i live in monroeville pa but i wander in parts of pittsburgh/westmifflin. i hope to see some fellow pittsburgh bmw owners in oncoming meets..(any meets soon? or is everyones bmw sleeping for winter

)

It is annoying, I just assume they don't cater to the guys who work on their car on the weekends. I order my filters in advance from Bavarian Autosport. I also order the oil from those guys as well (Lubro Moly).

I had that exact setup and didnt like the quality of the replica. considering we dont live in the area with the best roads

They are a nice looking set of wheels

Hey you guys running oil in your car that is not BMW's oil, you do know if something were to go wrong with your car internally and you are still under warranty, they send your oil off to a lab to make sure it is BMW oil and if it isnt they void your warranty!

There's nothing like authentic wheels I guess lol

I hit many potholes with my Volk te37's and it took them like a champ

no but it was a fear i had. I ran the setup for literally 2-3 weeks

No I think you are right, I just did a bunch of research on this. I don't know about sending it off to the lab (likely) but the basics are you should be using LL-01. The shit Bavarian Autosport sold me is LL-04 and apparently you shouldn't use it because fuel in the United States contains ethanol which causes some kind of problem with the oil, maybe corrosion I'm not sure.

Anyway yeah...here's the list of approved oils and LL-04 isn't one of them for North America. There are a ton of threads about this so I think I'm going to switch the oil, thanks for bringing this up. I just assumed BavAuto knew what they were selling but I'm thinking they do not.

I'm not trying to rehash the oil debate, its been done a thousand times in other threads I just never knew there was a big difference, Obviously I didn't put Quaker State in but the chemistry of the ethanol and sulfur and stuff isn't something I was aware of.
