for 5K, I'd rather get BBS LM-R wheels and Michelin PS2 tires.

5k down to 1.6k... True, they want a photoshoot, and the 1.6k is introductory pricing.

Let's put it this way, they are doing competitive pricing because no one in the right mind will buy these wheels for 5k, even if the economy were thriving again. These wheels just aren't in the same class as BBS Gold Forged.

im a consultant now, again. in connected systems and business intelligence as well as custom app development.
i'll be busy, i'll learn a lot, i'll go out to clients and help them out
my current title is sr. software engineer, which means nothing to me coz i do no work. my new job will be consultant. im estimated to be 6 months-1 year away from my sr. consultant I promotion

Yeah.. They should be bumping you up once they have seen your expertise and know what you're all about. I worked at a consulting company for 5.5 years. Hired in as Associate Consulting, and was promoted to Consultant, Senior Consultant, and then Principal Consultant within those 5 years. Along came with 15-20% bumps, though those days may be over.

Is the pay the same or better?
Because it sounds to me like you just quit a pretty great job. . .
Sr. software engineer that does nothing and gets paid. . . . where's the problem?
