Try the azbmw.org forum as well .. I haven't had to take my car to an independent shop yet.

Chapman in Chandler can be if you catch the right person on the right day. Didnt have a lot of luck there with last car but this time they are being very cool about it(but it is Dinan so that may be part of the reason since Dinan covered what they didnt.) They have a shop manager Lane or Laine, he is smart and knows his shit and knows mods. He knew my car had upgraded turbos and wastegates just by seeing one of the bolts was not brass colored. He also drives the car like you would drive it if you go for a drive with him. Most S/A or managers would baby the car or drive it so it didnt do what it does when you drive it(ease up on acceleration or not dirve it too hard) Went for a drive wth him and it was fun. Said something like "they make them to be driven" and hit the gas. Also has a good ear for sounds that arent supposed to be there. They have another shop manager who is a nice guy but more the Public relations guy(tells you the noise is normal and shit like that, drives the car just right so it doesnt make noise or duplicate the customer concern)) his name is Keith.(nothing personal Keith in case you read this) They have been known to read my posts in the past.

thats good...the tucson dealer sucks..they dont know SH*T...i went in a while back due to a rattling noise coming from the cd/dvd player area, and they told it was because my passenger door lock actuator was on its way out..i stopped going to them since then, except for maintenance stuff (made a mistake buying a maintenance package)

I've started to go to AZBimmerMotorwerks since my set up isn't your swap back to stock type... I am a bit lazy too...

They do BMW work but aren't a dealership and have better prices. Thus far I'e only used them for oil change, coolant flush, simple stuff. By the end of the month they'll do my downpipes and brakes.

My only experience with chapman wasn't favorable and would love to avoid them if its going to be anything like it was the first time.

Am getting my oil changed, strut replaced+re-aligned and steering fluid flushed. Price at my shop (European Auto Tech) was 1100, I think this is reasonable.
I also took my car to Blue and White to see about getting a detail. I was very impressed at what I saw; the other cars at the shop (Saw a white 1M out back) and the friendliness of the people. They truly seem to have a deep passion and love for bmws (which they specialize in). The quote for the regular detail was 200 and another 50 to get out some particularly deep, nasty scrapes. Despite this being at the high end, it was less than I expected and I'm willing to pay it; will report with full pics of results. If the detail looks good (Which it undoubtedly will) I would definitely consider taking my service work to them in the future even though they're located way out in the desert.

I also ordered the new 3M scotchprint CF vinyl which I'm hoping to either get professionally installed or maybe have another go-round on diy-ing it (and try to get it perf.) Any tips/any one know anyone in Tucson who can help me out? Thanks

Got a set of Morr Signature silver 19 iinch for sale and for $39000 I will even throw in a second set of wheels and a car. If you dont need a car I could let the wheels go without it.

You could do what I did, sand down your trim .. (mask the stuff around the trim with tape etc and paper) .. and paint with SEM black trim paint Just another option!
