http://www.rpmmotorworks.com/ off St. Laurent (south of the mall). George is the owner and is a BMW enthusiast who seems to know his way around BMWs.
His hourly rate is $90/hour which is fair, and won't over bill you. Tell him Nick sent you off the car forums (blue station wagon) |

Parts from Otto $850+tx without coolant. Bought waterpump, thermostat and bolts from BMW dealership on ebay : CAD $690 including shipping, taxes and import charges. And these are genuine BMW parts. |

Does anybody have any good recommendations on a shop to buy tires in Ottawa?
I'm looking to get a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports to replace my dead ones. Looks like I can order them from the States for around $1700-1800 CDN but if I can get them for similar price locally, might as well. |

If you have a costco membership, go there and check. Online doesn't show any selection at all, but they can order (at no charge to you) nearly everything. The last time I bought a set of tires it was the same price as tirerack, exchange adjusted + plus shipping, beating all other local shops, sadly.

I ordered my Micheline Pilot Super Sports through Kal Tire on Sheffield and dealt with Christian. Service was excellent.
I found prices to be quite a bit cheaper on PMC Tire and Quattro Tire. Both are based out of Quebec. Christian was able to price match them for me without any hassle. I will definitely go back to Kal Tire for future business. |

Posted this in main forum, probably should have posted here first!!
I have an 08-2008 build 335i (no i-drive), and would like to disable my DRLs since the wiring inside my headlight assembly is faulty, causing one of my DRL's not to work. They said the only way to fix is a new headlight assembly ($1500!) Instead of having just one working DRL, I would rather use my halos as DRLs, dealer said they were not allowed to do this, looking for someone who has the software in Ottawa. People are constantly telling me "hey dude, you have a burnt headlight!", getting annoying!

Hi:
I am looking to get AC Evaporator replaced on my 2009 335i coupe. BMW dealer in Oshawa has given an estimate of $3500 and car is out of warranty. Any suggestions on where to take it in Ottawa? DUSS Bros is out of the question since the grease monkeys there, are just that. I want to sure I go to a shop which has done them many times as this is a job where experience of the tech will come into play as it is time consuming and complicated. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks. I am looking to find out if someone on here had there Evap replaced and if so who/where it was done. Thanks all. Last edited by bavaddict; 06-16-2015 at 02:26 PM.. |

I've always had my 335 services at Otto's and haven't had negative experiences. Maybe you had a one-off experience? How long ago was this?
I'm always comfortable with recommending Otto's to my friends. |

Case in point, DUSS Bros will charge almost 15% extra for regular service items like full brake jobs and WP/TStat replacement compared to Otto's. And at that price difference, superior customer service, shuttle service, latte's, and breakfast. Same applies to Yonge Street Garage which, unlike DUSS bros, atleast is much better with regards to troubleshooting skill and service (they even told me themselves that they cant beat the dealer pricing because their parts are subsidized by BMW somehow...well atleast Kurt was honest You may want to try Autovation (or may already have) as well. For me its way the hell out of my way, but otherwise I believe Derek @ Autovation currently is what Rudie (DUSS) was years ago to BMW crowd in the capital. Good Luck and do keep us posted! |

Its just the task I am looking into is labor intensive (15-18 hours) so finding an Indie may be cheaper. Part itself is only $400. Thanks. Last edited by bavaddict; 06-16-2015 at 03:05 PM.. |

Any one here has gotten Walnut Blasting done to remove carbon buildup in intake? Any feedback on before and after? Perhaps you had misfire codes or erratic ideal which got fixed by WB?
Also, where did you do it? Autovation has quoted me $450 and Ottos just around $1000. |
