Jim had his son, and has been dealing with that. He didnt realize how stressful the few weeks prior to birth would be so Sharkedit got put on hold. Its all about priorities.

He sent me a screenshot a week ago, and its looking great. From what I hear, he is about to send it to a select few people to let them play with it to see if he was completely blind and missed something. I wish I had the screenshot on this computer, as I would post it. He also mentioned to me he is about to start taking pre-orders.

Was he overzealous in guessing the initial release date? Maybe a bit.
Would Sharkedit be released already had someone not opened their mouth on here? Yes

Combined with his wife getting pregnant, and rewriting Sharkedit from the ground up... it got slowed down.

Cmon, what was the original release date? August 1st for OBDII I think. Its not like its been years. No one is stopping any of you from purchasing something else.

I will try to remember to come back here and feed updates when I get them.
So whats up with all the people waiting for the Jim C. product since 2004 and promises that were never met? For now i think everyone here thinks you are full of hot air... Just dont post here until the product is for sale or Jim himself posts here with dyno sheets and pics of the unit...

You nailed it my friend.

Once again, sorry for not updating you guys. I really didnt have any news as the weeks (well, seems like months) up to the birth of his son I hardly talked to him.

Now I talk to him daily, and he is doing the finishing touches.

One thing I can say is, it will come out.

You do know down4it is an ass by nature. Unlike me, he hasn't learned how to control the outbursts very well yet . . . but he's working on it.

Just because one guy writes like that you dont want update the others?

Funny...

I would like to know as soon something changes.

But you have to understand as well that all about shark was always a bit like we don't need you taste.

If it would not be Jim behind it. Who ever he is (I know the story about him just a bit) the people would have turned on him already a long time.

If the shark will be a great product he will be the one again, if not his reputation will also change with the im over everything behavior.

my 2 cents

Yes i am working on it! Why have him post up here and conjure up some BS about a mytholigical ECU programmer that some people have been waiting for since 2004? Either show us the product or go home is all im saying... For all we know Jim is sitting in his chair laughing at us here while this guy talks about something that was supposed to come out in july, (OBD1) are there even any people out there beta testing or running the OBD1 software? NO! Thats why i say its just vaporware, Prove me wrong if you can...

Thanks for the update, I'm glad the baby is ok. My wife is still on schedule for the end of November so I can completely understand why he's been so quiet these past few months.
Keep the updates coming...

Well, honestly it's been frustrating reading some of the stuff going WAY WAY BACK, posted above. And as far as the "not stopping anyone from purchasing anything else.", well, from where I stand, there IS NOTHING ELSE that would work the way this would to fix BMW's piss poor engineering (i.e. a simple Shark Injector with a flash replacement of the lagarific DME code with a non lagtastic version...bone stock, for cheap, that I can do and undo quickly and easily and invisibly myself...that's allz I wantz! )

Maybe if I had a E90 I would stick around more. Actually, in general life has picked up tons for me. Just moved, and my workload here at the shop has gone up exponentially.

I read some of that too, and kind of chuckled. When I saw what it was about, I instantly knew it was DMEedit. That was before my time really knowing Jim. I read the long thread on Bimmerpost (I think it was) and Nick nailed it. What are ANY of you guys out? Its not like Jim took the money and ran. He is just a bit too optimistic and sadistic at the same time. Someone posted about what Jim said on a local board to friends about Sharkedit and put it in one of those threads. Good thing I am an admin on the local board, I will deal with that person. They wanted a sharkedit update right after Jim got home from the hospital with a less than healthy baby. That just blows my mind.

Well, at least you have an open mind and aren't just trying to stir the pot. You realize that this is like nothing else out there. No piggy back or any other hardware device will be capable of what Sharkedit will be able to do when its released.

In the end, cmon guys... this being released late is not the end of the world.

If you think its "vaporware" or Jim is lying his ass off, why waste your time in this thread? Move on with your lives. We all have better things to do than argue on the internet.

Jim is back, let's be constructive. I am really looking forward to this product.

You're a mod... could you lock this thread?

I only ask because its like 40 pages of BS, and 2 pages of worthwhile information. When there are updates, I will bump the Sharkedit update thread I made.

Let's hope the little guy gets back to good health, that's the most important.

C'mon... that is absolutely pathetic. Someone on here simply said they would hack the program, so it had to be re-written from the ground-up, and that is the cause of this delay?
