Interestingly enough, the police car doesn't have a front plate either. Unless that "state patrol" graphic plate counts... haha!

That is their license plate.

It sucks that you got a ticket Martin, but having that photo is almost worth it! Priceless

Gary, enough is enough, what car are you getting? If it is not a Bimmer, we might be forced to exclude you from this forum and our meets

Of course it's a bimmer I ordered an '11 335 last week. I did go check out and drive a few other vehicles (A5, Camaro SS and Mustang GT), but this only confirmed my suspicion that I cannot be without a bimmer in my life. The muscle cars do have a certain something though. Man, those V8s sounded glorious. I may look into picking up a used Mustang in a couple years for some weekend fun...

Another edition to the 6mt club I hope? Don't be swayed by DCT Gary!

I ended up with:

2011 335i Coupe
Le Mans Blue Exterior
Oyster Leather Interior
Bamboo Anthracite Interior Trim

Packages:
M Sport
Premium
Convenience
Cold Weather

Options:
HK Surround Sound System
Navigation System
iPod/USB Connection

It's already in production according to the dealer, so hoping to have it before the end of July.

I had a bit of a fright yesterday when I read a post on here about the M Sport package being removed from the BMW NA configurator. Sounds like the option has been removed, I'm sooo glad I got my order in when I did. I'm not really a fan of the standard LCI bumpers!

Nick
I was tempted by the 335is, especially after seeing one in the flesh at MW. In the end though, after much deliberation I just didn't think it was worth the extra 7 big ones - sorry man!

I didn't bother with ED either. I had too much travle going on for work in the next couple of months. I plan on doing it for my F30 in a couple years though

Did anyone else notice, at least from this angle, that the police officer is kind of hot?

I'm just throwing it out there...

Hah. Yes that was me, and I do remember your car as well. Nice ride. I personally would never let my dogs step foot in my car, but to each his own.

I have a eating problem with Chipotle. Its sooo good.

Good point... But when the two people on this forum who I have actually met before coincidentally met me at the same Chipotle...its a little odd.

6MT... Great choice. The only reason I could see wanting to go for the DCT is so you can eat Chipotle and drive at the same time...

What about your wheels? Are you just trading your '08 in? Don't forget to take your rear fog switch out so you can put it in the new one

Nick
Thank you sir! The oyster will take a little extra work, but after seeing it, especially with the anthracite headliner, I had to have it.

I'm just trading in my '08. I'll be taking the rear fog switch out before it goes in, but there is a new style switch in there since '09, so I will need to find the latest version. So if anybody wants my current one it's available I also need to find an oyster split armrest - Tischer doesn't have that color listed though, so I'll probably end up having to get it in Ireland.

The only thing I'm a little disappointed in that BMW NA removed the 225M 19'' wheels a couple weeks before I ordered. The only 19'' option I had was the style 230s, which I like, but wasn't sure how they'd work with M Sport. I just left it with the standard 193Ms which I'm not too fond of, so I'll probably have to look at some nice 19s for next spring

Despite being a huge Chipotle fan, (almost addicted, like having it 5 times a week ), I will never eat it or any other food in my car! I'm far to OCD about it to allow anything other than bottled water and tictacs

Hey guys!
Man it's been a while. I've been pretty busy with my son and life in general. Wow, that was a lot of reading getting all caught up! But I've had a ton of time on my hands the last few weeks. I shattered my leg in an ATV accident over the Memorial Day weekend. I'm stuck on bed rest until further notice...So I have a lot of time on my hands!

Congrats on your new car Gary! Sounds like a real winner! I believe my wife and I have settled on a new ride as well...She really wants an X3 ('07 or newer). I've been doing a lot of reading on them and I think I live with it.

I hope you all are enjoying your summer!
Brad

Sucks on the 225's; I really like those wheels with the double spoked spokes (if that makes sense). I would have gotten the 230's when I ordered my car but I was a couple months too early - I guess now it doesn't really matter.

The new switches have that chrome trim, don't they? I forgot about that. Do the coupes have the knee airbags as well? What else is different? Heated steering wheel? You're going to love the new iDrive although I'm a little surprised you checked that box; I didn't think you liked nav? iPod is def. a must and that's sweet you got the m-sport kit (a must).

Nick
Yup, the light color on the seats works beautifully with the black headliner, can't wait to get into it!

I think you're right on the switches, all I can make out is the little piece all chrome trim on the rotary switch. You know me though, I'm going to need to have it of the correct vintage The heated wheel is an option, but unforunately not with the M Sport package.

The main reason I got the nav was to have something different to play with. After having 2 E9Xs already, I was getting a little bored of the dash layout, and the nav makes a significant difference. Plus I can watch movies
