So yeah, since were on the subject of raccoons and crap. I have a Koi pond in my backyard. First set of koi (11), either raccoons or opossums ravaged them and ate them all.

Second set of Koi, everything was fine because we had built an electric fence to surround the pond, so whatever touches it gets zapped the fuck out of it. So, yeah that worked...but damn, you guys will never guess what happened next.

A FUCKEN STORK from Lake Merced FLEW all the way to my house (8-10) miles and OWNED all my KOI! I freaken SAW it standing on the side of my pond with it's long neck down the water, gobbling up my fish!

I threw a rock at it and hit it on the head...LMAO. It actually got knocked down, then flew away with a trial of bird shit left behind (probably because it got scared as balls)

And yeah...that's my Koi story. 300 of fish down the drain...goddamn! I hate these freaken animals!

Ray, since you know the area. Can you imagine a big ass bird flying across the Sloat/Ocean intersection, past St. Francis woods, past Faxon Garage to MY HOUSE? OMGGGG....

why don't you put a net over the pond? My friend has the same problem, and puts a net over it so that it catches leaves from trees, the dogs don't jump in, and prevents other animals eating them.

You should take down that fence and substitute Koi fishes with tigers. That way, if any of those animals try to come back for seconds, you have retaliation.

This will really throw off Darwin's theory of natural selection.

LOL, it wasn't actually a net. It was a net-like shield kind of thing, constructed from brass...it goes over the pond, and we can take it off whenever we want, like a portable net. Me & dad built it, but never knew a bird would ever DETECT there would be fish that far way from Lake Merced!!!
