I called the dealer on monday morning and asked to place a deposit on this car, so I could buy it Today. The sales guy told me they would not allow me to place a non-refundable deposit to hold it for 48 hours.

I drove 2.5 hours to the dealer today to buy the car, and the salesmen sold it to someone else 15 minutes before I got there. After i again spoke with the same guy on tuesday, and today right before I left my house. I even let him know i was running a few minutes late due to traffic on the highway from construction.

I watched the new owner sign the papers in front of me, and i walked out and drove 2.5 hours back home.

Pissed off.

A quick trigger finger absolutely pays off. It's unfortunate but you have to move quickly on these cars when one in desirable spec pops up, especially when they're listed at a reasonable price.

It took me a few years to find the right e91, keep your head up as it's worth it in the end!

I actually was in the works to buy that car 3 days ago when I got the alert on the price drop before someone posted it here. It was almost worth it but the extra $1000 to ship it made me 2nd guess my decision. If it had xenons I would’ve jumped immediately.

I recently picked one up instead of getting the e91, 06-07 cars are n52 with a three stage intake manifold, it's a blast.

I'm thinking about selling the wagon. Rust free and pretty mint.
- added backup camera
- m3 style side skirts and lip spoilers up front. Repainted bumper just to remove rock chips
- 66k miles, about to do the valve cover gasket, plugs, various fluids, etc
- fresh tires, alignment, etc
- two pedals not three.

There's a 6mt/RWD sport package car for sale locally here in Raleigh:

https://www.oakcityautosales.com/inv...series/v95017/

It's funny, I actually put a note asking to buy on the windshield of this car at a mountain bike trailhead in Chapel Hill and the guy (or girl?) never called me back. I kept seeing it around town when I lived there and it killed me. Now it's for sale and I've got a fucked up knee and can't drive a manual car. Ah well.

Wow. Awesome deal here. Should be gone in two days tops, would be surprised there is not a deposit on it already.

Listing mine up for sale while another car I have my eye on is available.

Mechanically it’s in great shape, the interior is clean, and the body isn’t too bad. The bumpers have some dings and the roof has a couple as well. The paint has some spots where the clear is fading because the previous owner took a while to clean off bird droppings.

2008 328i Touring
Blue on tan leatherette
6-speed
153k miles

Replaced/Installed in February 2017 @ 139k miles:
Alternator
Belts and tensioners
Valve cover gasket
Intake manifold gaskets
Upgraded 3 stage manifold with NEW disa valves
K&N drop in filter
AA catless headers
AA dyno tune
Custom AA mid pipes with race cats
CDV delete
Bilstein sport shocks
AST/Moton lowering springs
Dinan fixed camber plates
OEM M3 front control arms (all 4)
Adjustable rear toe arms
Custom perforated and thickened oem sport steering wheel
Dinan short shifter
Volk Evo4 18x9 forged monoblock wheels wrapped in 245/40/18 Michelin PS4 front and new (500 miles) Pilot Super Sport rear

The good:
All bushings and arms have been replaced or are up to date. The car drives tight, runs smooth, etc. It's super reliable and I wouldn't hesitate to take it cross country.
The interior is in good shape as well, some minor tears in the driver seat as pictured but the rest of it is solid.
It's a quick N52. It was dyno tuned to 247whp on a Mustang dyno, but has never seen the track. It's my daily driver.
There are no leaks of any sort.
All electronics funciton properly, windows, switches, etc.

The bad:
The paint isn't the best. The photos show the dings in the bumpers and on the roof, as well as the clear spots where bird droppings took their toll. The rest of the paint is in good shape. I'm not a detailer so maybe the bad spots can be restored?
The oil pan was replaced in August of 2016 before I purchased the car. Some of the bolts are mismatched, but since it does not leak I didn't bother replacing them.

I work at AA so if anyone is local and wants to drop by it’ll be there during work hours. This car has all of the little kinks worked out of it except for the cosmetic issues. This car drives better than it did when it was new.

$9500

Somebody told me once that all of the manual E91 wagons were special order, the dealers didn't stock them. I'm not sure if that's true though. It would certainly explain some of the weird specs I've seen on the majority of manual E91s. The 6mt E91 I had was totally loaded with the exception of comfort access and it had a grey on aluminum interior. I mean, who does that?

I worked for a dealership in Southern California for the last couple years of e46 production and the beginning of the e90. I can't speak for all dealers but generally speaking we would only order automatic non-M. Z4's didn't follow this trend, though. Any oddball cars typically required a deposit (i.e. Phoenix Yellow e46 M3).

We'd occasionally order a non-M car in the highest engine spec with a stick, i.e. an e46 330i with Sport Package + Premium package before the ZHP's came out. And we had a few e90 330i's in 6MT initially. Someone accidentally ordered an e60 525i with no options (in manual) and it was put into loaner service but most people declined it as a rental. We ended up using it as an errand car until its time as a loaner was done.

We had 1 e46 touring that had SMG (pretty sure it was an iT) and an e39 525i wagon that was an ordered car in a stick. I don't recall ever seeing an e91 with a third pedal although I left a year or so after the e90 was introduced. 99% of our cars were RWD, iX's were almost always ordered or dealer trades.

Even 10-15 years ago, most manual cars would sit around for months until someone would buy them. I had to order my e92 335i to get it with a third pedal in 2012. Generally speaking, dealers want to stock cars that are easy to sell. Americans for the most part aren't interested in wagons, even less so if they are in a stick. The fact that we only have 500 or so RWD manuals isn't surprising at all.
