Even the current admin pushing these regulations, don't even say this. They have set a goal for half of new car sales to be electric, fuel cell or hybrid electric vehicles by 2030. Their own study shows if half of all cars sold by 2030 were electric, EVs could make up 60%-70% of cars on the road by 2050. Looks like 2050 for "majority" to be EV's. |

Do you have a quantitative view on the swing you expect in 2030? |

I'm using this definition of Swing : move or cause to move in a smooth, curving line. Which one are you using? If we use mine, the swing started long ago, rather than the "great 2035 gas ban" of August 2022. When will the "swing" matter? likely in or near 2048, and as you have pointed out, so much might happen to change our priorities anyway. Last edited by chad86tsi; 11-29-2022 at 07:54 PM.. |

I'd believe 2050 is possible for the balance to shift, but not much sooner, and is all still predicated on discovering some as-yet undiscovered solution(s). |

Do any Swiss site members know if gasoline or diesel vehicles are banned in a similar way that EVs are banned, according to the linked article above (if true)? |

At this point its a self for filling prophecy, Germany is an expert when it comes to slapping it self silly they let their greens destroy they nuclear power plants with fear mongering and here we now stand where the Germans are shi**ing bricks because Putin got them by the curlys. The Germans seems to think GAS i the green alternative ...... But all in all we should also considering closing petrol stations in that sense also they draw a lot of power for filling up an petrol/diesel vehicle its not like you are standing there hand pumping in manually although this would be possible to still do if they cut EVs like that, then i guess all of us EV drivers would have to dust of the old exercise bike and connect it to a generator to pump up our EV's and also get some exercise done while at it, win win for all. So lets remove power from fuel stations make it manually done especially those stations where the trucks fills up their tanks, imagine the biceps of people if they had to do it manually :O, except for the payment part, and also when we ban EVs lets make sure everyone gets exercises bikes to generate some electricity for them so we can at least get to work an back. Nothing but win wins here

You are already paying extortionate taxes in that neck of the woods for the electric madness letting the up and coming young down with a coming huge debt. Pollution is a small percentage down to fuel cars compared with what factories pump out and so forth and it's a fact that building an EV uses more carbon than a normal vehicle. |
