Did anyone predict a swing in ev sales 3 yeasts ago? Why, yes, yes they did.

You said nope, I’ve shown that to be false.

Come on masterdebater, you can do better.

Chart shows swing in 2048ish......
We could all be dead by then
Nuclear winter
Or aliens come and gave use mana as new energy source
That doesn't show a swing......rather a long term best case scenario

Majority of vehicles on the road will be EV by 2030, you really believe this? So over 50%?

Even the current admin pushing these regulations, don't even say this. They have set a goal for half of new car sales to be electric, fuel cell or hybrid electric vehicles by 2030. Their own study shows if half of all cars sold by 2030 were electric, EVs could make up 60%-70% of cars on the road by 2050.

Looks like 2050 for "majority" to be EV's.

As car makers make more ev’s and eliminate ice options From their lineup is going to show you that swing.

Give it time. I know it’s hard to accept but hey denial is actually detrimental to your health.
Answering questions with questions I see. What is your numerical outlook on this topic? How much is "more"? How should a "swing" be quantified?

Do you have a quantitative view on the swing you expect in 2030?

I'm using this definition of Swing :

move or cause to move in a smooth, curving line.

Which one are you using?

If we use mine, the swing started long ago, rather than the "great 2035 gas ban" of August 2022.

When will the "swing" matter? likely in or near 2048, and as you have pointed out, so much might happen to change our priorities anyway.

Half the ICE's on the road today will still be on the road in 2030, let alone all the ones yet to be built.

I'd believe 2050 is possible for the balance to shift, but not much sooner, and is all still predicated on discovering some as-yet undiscovered solution(s).

Interesting. Is gasoline and diesel vehicle usage similarly banned?

Yup things are getting better. People are spending more on something others think have no chance of existing in today's world.

Holy fuck i love killing all these arguments.

Car makers will catch up i'm sure. Give it time. Our 2030+ lifestyle with cars will be great!
Not really. Just because the top 10% could afford to buy those trucks, doesn't mean in 8 years 50% of the population will be able to afford a new EV, truck or car.

Especially if everyone below the upper class keeps getting hammered by inflation and stagnant wages.

Do any Swiss site members know if gasoline or diesel vehicles are banned in a similar way that EVs are banned, according to the linked article above (if true)?

Heh yeah we should ban everything in the EU because our own stupid choices to make our self depended on gas instead of investing in proper power plants like nuclear.

At this point its a self for filling prophecy, Germany is an expert when it comes to slapping it self silly they let their greens destroy they nuclear power plants with fear mongering and here we now stand where the Germans are shi**ing bricks because Putin got them by the curlys. The Germans seems to think GAS i the green alternative ......

But all in all we should also considering closing petrol stations in that sense also they draw a lot of power for filling up an petrol/diesel vehicle its not like you are standing there hand pumping in manually although this would be possible to still do if they cut EVs like that, then i guess all of us EV drivers would have to dust of the old exercise bike and connect it to a generator to pump up our EV's and also get some exercise done while at it, win win for all.

So lets remove power from fuel stations make it manually done especially those stations where the trucks fills up their tanks, imagine the biceps of people if they had to do it manually :O, except for the payment part, and also when we ban EVs lets make sure everyone gets exercises bikes to generate some electricity for them so we can at least get to work an back.

Nothing but win wins here

Including the disabled and women with non EV's hand pumping?, I don't think so.
You are already paying extortionate taxes in that neck of the woods for the electric madness letting the up and coming young down with a coming huge debt.
Pollution is a small percentage down to fuel cars compared with what factories pump out and so forth and it's a fact that building an EV uses more carbon than a normal vehicle.
