Do you guys think running stage 1 93 octane on a stock 2009 335i 6MT is absolutely safe. What about overheating issues? I really don't want to mod the car other than the tune.

You'll be fine. The cooling on a 335 is absolutely awesome - even when I track it I hardly ever hit limp modes. Sure, people will say "omg cooling is shit" etc, but I suspect you aren't going to be raping the car leftways, so you will be MORE than fine.

Get an intercooler, the car is so much more effeciant with an upgraded FMIC.

Many people say they dont feel any power increase below 60mph with an intercooler, but I did with my HPF FMIC.

Robb,

Is it possible to get the stage 1 tune without increasing the rev/speed limiter?

Just curious thanks

actually I'm more curious about the rev limit, just figured I may as well ask about the speed limiter as well

yes, reve limited is raised and you can run that bad boy out, but there really isnt any reason as a stock car is winded as fuck about 6500rpms

All N54 based vehicles starting in MY2008 have the CAN bus connected from the OBDII port to the ECU. MY2007 N54 based vehicles (335i) have what is called k-line, or serial, communication from the OBDII port to a "gateway".

The difference between MY2007 and MY2008+ being I needed to write the BMW specific k-line driver to speak BMW over serial/k-line for 2007 support. I have done so and am stress testing the code now before I let in out for beta. Whenever I write a new communication protocol I like to make very sure it's solid before putting it in the hands of the customers.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,
Rob
Rob,

Does the difference between these two communication protocols change the duration of the install / uninstall process? Or in other words, does it take longer to change maps or install accessport over serial connection?

does the rev limit default to a certain rpm on stage 1 or can you adjust it?

i'd like to see 6000-6200 rpms shifts.

anything over that is pretty much pointless.

I gave up on COBB 07 support. I took part of the money I had set aside for it and bought me some LUX H8 V3s.
