Makes me wonder if an e82 135i or 128i muffler could be fitted to the e90... I know the e82 muffler is about half the size of the e90/91

Edit: I also believe that the 330i from 06 have a valve as well... but I think they were open until you let off the throttle

Replaced the sunroof shade with a brand new one. Old fabric peeled off the original one and left adhesive flakes everywhere. Pretty easy DIY! Vaccuumed some stray leaves out of the cassette while I was in there.

I'm sure it could with some persuasion!

Previous Owner had a Muffler Delete on mine. When I put my headers on, I swapped over to a Magnaflow system.

From looking at both systems I'm sure the 135i muffler would fit with just some new hangers and welding. Curious how it would sound compared to stock and the BMW PE. Does the E82 have a resonator like the E90?

Yes, I would assume so. I know its kinda known with the 1er guys that a 135i exhaust fits on a 128i and is a little louder than the stock 128i exhaust.

If it could give my wagon a little more voice, without being annoying and being half the weight of the stock muffler I'd be happy. I also like the look of the OE 135i exhaust with the black chrome tips. Just have golf tee the valve open

You can see the size difference of the two PE exhaust systems

A stock 135i muffler from ebay or something might be a cheap way to make the car sound a bit meaner while still being OE.

PE for the E90 are hard to come by and from the videos I've seen (which are rarely a good indication of sound) it seems a bit loud. The PE I do see are $1000+ which is a lot to pay for something you aren't sure you will like. My friend's 335i with golf tee mod has the perfect sound IMO. I don't really like a loud exhaust, but something with a slightly deeper tone would be nice. I've driven a 325i e90 with just a magnaflow muffler and while the volume was good it droned pretty bad at certain RPM.

Yep, this is my thought exactly as well. I like staying OEM+, so naturally, the PE is the way I would like to go, but I'm not gonna pay a grand for a used one and at the end of the day its still a big heavy piece.

Just about every aftermarket muffler or exhaust system I have found seems to have some drone.

I honestly don't want an exhaust as loud as the PE for my wagon but I do want a tiny bit more volume. I'm thinking this 135i muffler might be a good way to go.

Honestly, that is pretty loud, basically a muffler delete, which is way louder than I want. I have cutouts on my M5, its fun every once in a while but it's pretty loud and the drone is horrible. I only use them occasionally to scare the shit out of someone texting in traffic, or the random freeway merge.

I'd rather my e91 just have a little more voice... muffler delete just sounds like you are 17 and trying to get people to look at you, my e91 is much more of a subtle car.

Agreed. I commute an hour to work so the last thing I'd want is a 17 year old's exhaust haha.

Cutout gives you the option to keep quiet as well. Unless the general sound of a muffler delete is what turns you off. Then you can do a secondary delete? Drone is also an issue, but again, with a switch to flip it open/closed.

Well on my M5 the cutout makes the thing crazy loud. But closed it still isn't "quiet" I can hear the cars exhaust.

I really don't like what I've heard of the n52 muffler deletes. A switch is nice to turn it off, but that's not what I am going for. I just want to be able to hear the car a little better, all the time, not just have an obnoxious switch.

Anyway, I'll create a thread about this so I don't have to spam up this thread...

Can't wait to see what you picked out... I'm trying to decide for my wagon as well... leaning towards a 17" square setup to shed as many lb's from my corners as possible.

Nice, that will look awesome on AW. Is that the Race silver or hyper silver? What face profile? Gonna run spacers?

Sweet, Yeah I think you will be fine, although the rear on our wagons is a bit sunken... I know some of the other e91 guys will run a very mild spacer in the back sometimes (like 5mm)

I may if they are a bit sunken when I get them installed. I currently have 15mm spacers on the rear of the wagon but I think those would be a bit over kill with the new wheels.
