Just picked up the blackberry curve. Pretty cool phone. Have to stick with verizon, two brother-in-laws work for them. Plus, whole family has VZW. Anyway, pretty cool phone. E90 post is a bitch to read on it though. It is either to big or to small.

Doesn't work with verizon, yet. I think they are working something out though. Long story short: Apple wanted verizon to carry their phone but apple wasn't willing to give VZW full power over the apps so apple went somewhere else. Overtime, the i phone will work with VZW

Make all the excuses you want, you just couldn't say no to your brother or brother-in-law or whoever it is. And I bet Verizon is kicking themselves in the ass now for saying no.

5 was a nice car, and the wife liked the extra room, but the thing felt really loose to me. Maybe it was just the loaner I had.

apple is NOT kicking themselves...

while verizon might be a better provider for some, their demands up front were unreasonable and would have caused the iphone GUI to look like motorola's do...and we all know where that went

apple going with ATT allowed them the freedom to run the GUI their way, but while we dont all love AT&T, considering the number of customers they deal with, its not that terrible and it has worked for Apple in getting their product out to the market with a hint of exclusivity...I mean, the people who arent on AT&T...certainly are thinking about it!

over the past year AT&T has signed 2.1 million new subscribers...1.9million of which were iphone users...that says something

now if AT&T wants to get back with verizon and other carriers, its not because they dont like AT&T, its because they have counted that they are now such a significant part of AT&T's business, that they can make demands for better pricing structures and profit structures for them, and then they can also work on expanding their phone to multiple carriers within the US to sell the most units since theyve already got everyone interested by staying exclusive for a little bit..

5 series has some sloppy handling. and i just had a terrible dream that my SA called and said the spines on my tranny where starting to crack due to the "heavy use." really was a nightmare

I understand your point. That is where the issue was. Apple wanted to run the GUI their way but verizion would not allow it. They don't work that way. They will not release a product until they have control over it and have done extensive testing on it. Do they go wrong sometimes, who doesn't? Yes AT&T has signed up new customers, that is great for them. Verizion has a lot more customers, which would have been an even bigger benefit for them. Weither the customers are new or old, really does not make that big of a difference. They are still going to sell a lot more i phones. It was all about the power battle between apple and VZW. It is all about the money. When apple teams up with VZW, better sell your RIMM shares and buy some more AAPL!
