Be sure he keeps the same vehicle code and country code as his original. Those are written into the calibration file and checked. |

So just for the record, it would appear the CAN power-class byte is sent from the CAS module and it seems that can be freely set with NCS Expert. And as mentioned above, there are two layers of verification for the BN2000 cars.
First one is the check with what the CAS module. Second one is with a value that's stored in the NVRAM, which the DME only allows to be set if the run time is 0. So since we can't change that value easily, it's easiest to modify the tune and leave the CAS to what it was stock. |

So, what is this file? Can you please give the number of this firmware (ZB number) to input it in winkfp? Because if i undo changes with ista P, i will have a file from 525 without disa. Right now Zb number is 7623397, it is from 530 (i can see and use disas). Should i undo my changes and flash this ZB number in DME? Or i need another?

I don't think you need to that.
1) you already flashed the 530i file with the power class set to 00. 2) you stated you changed your CAS from wert_00 to wert_02. Change your CAS back to wert_00. That should be all you need to do at this point. |

I probably missed it in here, but I'm guessing you saw the revlimited thread where they were able to delete EWS on the MSSV70?
Likely you've got it, but just thought I'd cross pollinate. |

Thanks for the hard work :-)
So, if i understand this correctly (im not an englisch native speaker): to Tune my EU-spec 125i to the factory 130i powerlevel, i need to: - pull the bin (with kess v2 over OBD from my car?) - use a hex editor to change the powerclass - upload the bin - profit? |

Well, it's not the power class byte that controls the power - it's more like a "checksum" that verifies that the tune file you have matches your car (to stop you from changing your 125i to a 130i).
What you need is to flash your car with the file from the 130i - with the one change to the file being you need the power class to match your car. Here are the power classes I'm aware of: 125i/325i/525i: 00 128i/328i/528i: 01 130i/330i/530i: 02 135i/335i/535i: 03 (need to confirm) So if you have a 125i and want to use a file from a 130i, you need the power class to be set to 00 in the tune so that the car will not be in limp mode. |

03 is apparently for prototypes and electric motors. You know what, I correct myself. Seems like E6x and E9x treat some things differently (N54 is 01 for E9x, 02 for E6x) |

But as i know, the 130i uses a MSV70 and the 125i the MSV80. Is it possible to use the BIN from a MSV70 to flash into a MSV80? BTW: Is there an alternative software for kess v2 to dump the bin file? Last edited by HiggsBoson; 10-04-2016 at 08:31 AM.. |

Hello huys! Thanks to all for help, i sucessfully converted my 525 to 530. I have one question now, my friend asks me to help him with converting 2005 e60 523 to 525. Is it the same procedure? Is the byte locates at same adress? Thanks in advance.

There is actually an MSV80 130i tune though. It would be similar, but the addresses are way different on MSV80. On MSV80, you can only read/write with the OBD port. So any OBD flash tool that supports MSV80 should work. |
