Making the trade, will free up more salary for next years free agency crop. Boozer makes 12.7 mil this year, and that will come off the books, not to mention Hinrichs' scheduled 10 mil for next year, and Tyrus salary (4 mil?). Depending on what other player the Bulls get in this trade, they can have roughly close to 35 million to spend next year I believe, before they hit the cap, and probably 40 mil before they hit the luxury tax threshold.

I wasnt saying VZW was better or worse than at&t, I was just saying apple didnt care which one they got, as long as the terms allowed them to run their product their way, and to stick to the margins they wanted. They got this with AT&T, and are now using that product power to leverage future deals. I do not believe apple will have an exclusive deal with AT&T, or VZW..I think their plan is to have no more carrier exclusivity, but to be on multiple carriers @ the same time...on their terms, because since they were so sucessful, they can mandate their own terms now...which im sure theyll get within reason.

FYI, at the time of signing, AT&T was larger than VZW, and only fairly recently has VZW become larger w/their alltell acquisition

I do not think that being a partner with VZW is any more beneficial to them then AT&T. Both companies are large enough to give apple the margins they required for their phones, and verizon has 9 million more subscribers than AT&T now (post alltell) (vzq=80mil..at&t=70 mil approx)..

so I dont think its a matter of carrier for apple's success, but rather, having access to as many carriers as possible now...which will be made easier next year when the 4G network shared by vzw & at&t (LTE) will be out, allowing for 1 device working on both networks w/the same transmitter...no need for multiple iterations of the same device as previous, and room for wireless speed up to 20mbps...itll happen
