Installed m3 rack. Took 4-5 hrs. Hardest part was getting the steering spindle reattached.

need to get it aligned tomorrow. toe was messed up so it was trying to kill me.

from the brief, under 10 mph parking lot drive. cant tell, but kind of disappointed. if i had not bought it, and had it sitting for a few months, knowing what i know now, i dont think its worth the work. could be because im a fckin noob and takes me 2-3x the time to install parts.

im sure that might change once i get a proper alignment + higher than 10mph.

what is immediately noticeable is the reduction in wheel turns. i.e. full lock is 1.25 turns left and right, whereas the stock rack was around 1.5-1.75 if that makes sense. at first it scared the sht out of me, then eh, makes sense i guess.

Just filled up my 335i with 93 Octane.
There's a Hurricane (Dorian) coming in our direction (Florida), but still too early to tell where it will go. However, might as well top off the tank before everyone else goes on a gas hoarding buying spree causing a fuel shortage.

Realized I made a mistake....I need to work on how I work on my car. Its usually very hot out (I'm in Texas) I typically drink while I'm working on the car, and I let my self get stressed out, and that's when I make mistakes. Mistakes like not putting the second part to the upper shock mount on, then later wonder why the FUCK my car has such a loud clunk in the rear.....

When my upper shock mount rusted through, i thought the wheel was about to fall off, or maybe someone was back there bashing the side of my car with a sledgehammer, it was making such a racket.
If nothing else, it sure wakes/sobers you up quick!

1. I bought a new hatch, picked it up with the Chevy because the e91 is still in 1000 pieces.

2. Test fit looks good! Just need to put on the plate and I'm good to go!

I looked for an LCI hatch in A22/SMG paint color, but no dice... guess I'm stuck with the old style lights for the next 5ish years.

I’ll take the damaged bumper if you’re into charity. Haha. Somehow living amongst farms I have not managed to hit an animal yet that would allow me to replace my non m-sport front bumper. It’s like the deer don’t want me to go m-sport or something.

I’ve got a friend who could probably repair that well enough to make it worth paying to ship it. And I could practice drilling for front pdc and not be worried about trying it on a brand new bumper cover. Let me know.

Out of curiosity, what leads you to n54 instead of n55?
I heard n55 was a lot more reliable, but haven't researched it.

Hi folks, just got myselft a nice e91 sport pack, nav pack, 6mt, as my winter beater. Cheap enough, 3000$. No check engine light, but few issues of course.

1. When decelerating SOMETIMES it feels like someone kicking hard my back bumper. Transmission related, but what? is it common?

2. no, a/c, dont care, not a big issue easy fix, its a winter beater after all.
3. No sunroof, I'll try the reset procedure. dont care much, its a winter beater after all

4. Maintenance wize. Previous owner did the important stuff before sale, its a joke : new shock, new sparkplugs, new alternator, new pad, new rotors, serpentine.

But what next. Ill put some new liquimolly, new filters, new trans oil, coolant fluch..

But what are you suggesting as a ''new owner'' maintenance on those e90?

this rare 6mt avant sline will sleep in the garage this winter

For number 2: I didn't bother to fix the AC on a car I once owned... Eventually the compressor seized and shredded the belt

I always take BMWs to the dealer for their first oil change, they always give me list of work to do longer than my arm, but it helps to pick and choose what to fix.
Oil filter housing gasket and belt tensioner would be high on my list to check.

thanks, I'll go to a euro shop, can't stand bmw dealer near my place.

I expect a freaking long list, this car is almost junk, 160k miles....

but those are ''bmw civics'' so not too scared about finding part. I even got the place and tools to replace the engine. I need a clean body to see client this winter. Planning to to 3000km max / year.

and honestly, from my research, there's not much on those car in comparison with my audi.... lol.

Back in the days, I declined a e91 full full full equiped, yes nav pack, keyless, sport pack, executive pack, m-pack, 6mt, red interior. I almost crying realizing that they sold only 10 fully equipped 6mt e91 in canada .
