Lesson plan, yea, but that's the beauty of it. Seeing if you can get kids that are actually interested in learning. Another reason to teach young kids IMO. I'd have to say, I'd be a pretty fun teacher. My little sister told me the other day she had a teacher who gave some grueling assignment over the summer. I think that's pretty lousy. Kids need their time off. I told her If I was forced from the board or something (AP class) to assign something, I would give the kids two options. 1. Lame assignment. 2. I would have a list of places where the kids could volunteer and do some humanitarian/charity work over the summer. The list would have names and contacts of places I have approved. Of course, I would talk to the contacts beforehand just to make sure someone wasn't cheating. Anyways, I thought it would open their minds up a bit.

That's good to hear on your progression John. It's admirable to see someone start rock bottom and work their way up. You've obviously put in your due and earned where you're at now.

Me, I'm sitting at a dead end job...
Eh, I'm sure you can use that experience and go somewhere you really want to be. Or save up a bunch of money and open that business! Thanks btw, I still have awhile to go. One of my friends just told me today, that they just hired someone at his place. He said I could go there if I had more server experience. I'm like, how the hell do I get experience without my foot in the door. He told me I should build more servers at home and bs my way thru it. I guess I have to get off my ass now...

It's not easy, requires a lot of patience. You probably realize this, it just takes a certain type of personality IMO.

I can't see that picture. But I think it would be totally gratifying if a teacher can turn that one problem child around. Of course you can't help everyone, but it would be nice to be the difference maker.

Actually i was a major trouble maker in my calculus class....
my g/f sat right behind me, so I was turned around the whole time talking to her. Never did my homework, so after a while teacher just skipped me when it came time to answer questions

definitely not MY type of personality. I treat kids as adults, period been working out for me, but im not sure it's a good way to teach them.

That's the thing man. teachers wanted to change me to be like their "favorite" kids. They should have put effort in trying to find out more about our personalities.

I was pretty controversial since i was a straight A student, so they loved me, although they refused to have me in class. if that makes any sense.

picture was puss in boot's innocent look from Shrek

Open minded teachers are the best! not limited to what everybody else is doing and has done. Kids do need a change of pace sometimes, and also their breaks over summer. That's the problem these days, kids aren't allowed to just be kids anymore. I think you'd make a great teach...

Teaching at church had to be one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.

What exactly do you do if you don't mind me asking? What company also? If you feel like keeping something private let us know, but Mantis will probably bug you about it!

Business side seems like too much red tape. I'd be interested in IT Sales, but wholesale, dealing with other companies, not retail. Sales is where the $$$ is at! Working at Cisco and selling to large companies would be great.

I heard about that car!

On a random thought, the other day my coworker was talking about washing your hands when going to a restaurant. I do this, but she brought up something I never thought of. Always wash your hands after you order, everyone touches the menus and they are disgusting. Great, time to be a bigger germaphobe!
