Have an E92 325 SE which I absolutely love but have just got a new job in Manchester (Many more miles) so am considering looking at a 330d to see if that will give me better MPG without feeling a loss in power/fun which I have become used to!

Will give it a few months before I consider a change though.
330d will be quicker mate!!! Let alone with a re-map wich will make it stonking!

Well, I am patient but not that patient. If I get to March and I have not found my E92, I'll probably give in and get a new one.

An E92 330.

My musts: automatic post September 2008 (w/ CIC nav update), speaker upgrade, heated seats, bluetooth, USB, DAB radio, electric mirrors.

Then my preferables, but not quite life-or-death: climate windscreen, electric lumbar support, comfort access, rear and front PDC

Unfortunately, it seems most 330 buyers seem to be a bit stingy with the options (perhaps because those selling the cars now were only looking for something short term, or barely could afford the car in the first place). It appears as though the 335i and M3 buyers are the only ones who tend to 'spec out' on their cars

Petrol. I am avoiding the 335i due to horror stories I have heard about turbo and HPFI failures, insurance (I am 22), and I believe the 330i will have better residual value than the 335.

330i M sport

Hello

New here, so be gentle!

After trying a considering lots of altenatives I have just bought a used '08 E90 330i M Sport to replace my lovely but ageing 4.4 X5. I had a job finding my car because I wanted a manual, M sport with the later 272 engine. Decent performance, low road tax and great mpg (compared to my old V8).

I bought over the phone the first manual I came across at a BMW dealers, without actually seeing it . Not only has it got the usual extras (Sat Nav, leather etc) but when I went to collect it I aso found it has the BMW induction kit, Eisenmann exhaust, cross brace, quick shift, rear diffuser and 19" 101 style alloys (do they crack??). The Salesman was very apologetic (although I was not complaining, as to be honest I did not know what it all was till I started looking on the internet) and assured me it was all BMW approved and wouldn't affect my warranty.

Car drives brilliantly and so far everything is looking good. I am even glad I was to tight to pay the insurance premium for an Alpina.

Welcome to the forum, good to see another Midlands member.

Was that the Sparkling Graphite one I saw for sale at a Sytners garage? Quite a few miles on it but great spec!

Horror stoties.. LOL.. a few cars have gone wrong. Not many mate. The fuel pump failures are far more common in the US than here. Insurance here nor there?

I insured re-mapped 335d at 24 pretty easily. The 330i wont have anywhere near as good residuals as the 335i, as the 335i is the more desirable to have. Well thats my opinion (Opinion's are like Arse holes at the end of the day, everyone's got one)

Someone actually said on here somewhere it seems all 330i are very lowly spec'd for some reason!? be hard to find what your after?

Syntner Sheffield. They were very efficient and gave me a decent trade in.

The car had just under 40k on the clock after 18 months (so high mileage) but I only do 7K a year and the price was right (I guess less than half what somebody originaly spent on it). Drives as well as the low mileage demonstrators I tried (all 325i's, BMW do not want to push the 330 it seems) but with much more get up and go. Still treating it with a great deal of respect as it is the first rear wheel drive car I've had for a few years.

Hi all,
Not long bought my third 3er, this time an E92 320i M Sport.
Had an E36 318i and an E46 323i in the past, but had an A4 diesel for a couple of years.
Decided to go back to BMW, but am having a wobble because of an engine issue on the 320i...
Hopefully it will get sorted, because apart from that, I love it!

Apologies for the rubbish iPone pic.

Cheers,

Looking at current second hand prices for the 330i and 335i, that appears not to be the case?

Yeah, good point - there are far fewer complaining on the webs compared to those who actually own a 335i.

Hi there!

Just registered here, top site this is, only been on BMWLand till now.

Owned my Arctic Silver 320d SE saloon for just over 2 months now with no real issues, been a bit clumsy with the remote unlocking the boot now and then but apart from that no troubles touch wood!

This is my first BMW after owning Audis and Peugeots in the past. Really like the E90 shape and stance.

This is my first diesel too. The push button start makes up for this first thing Thankfully.

Cheers

Hi all,

This is definitely a top site - the colour threads helped me make up my mind for an E90 Le Mans Blue M Sport, and went for the 320d in the end, only extra feature being electric folding door mirrors. Test drove quite a few different engines and liked the 320si but the example I saw was a bit rough round the edges... For insurance/economy the 320d made the most sense.

Joined the forum today as I've suffered the DSC failure 4 days after finally making my purchase (lots of people seem to suffer this fault), but I'm still well pleased with it!
