I haven't been to Hurry Curry but I've heard about it. Some people like Hurry some people Like Curry House from what I read.

Curry House uses Vermont Curry.


There's Mild, Medium, and Hot.

i had some friends that went to ucla. when i would come down to visit, we'd hit up hurry curry sometimes.

yeah we'll hit up curry house in j-town up here every so often.
then they opened one up by my parents house out in Rowland heights.
And now I live about a 2 minute walk to Hurry Curry in old town pas.
i think i'll have to go get some tonight.

i haven't been able to find any decent japanese curry in the bay area. no dedicated places such as those found in socal.

when i was in japan this past january, i had a lot of it.

I always get the Deluxe Fried Shrimp Curry (the one with the Curry Pilaf rice) and order an extra shrimp or two (think they are like $0.50 ea). I have only been to the Curry House in Irvine though.

the one in rowland...their salad is a little different than the one in J-town.
I usually get a pork or a beef katsu curry spicy. if there's someone there that wants to grub down with me, we'll usually order another katsu and split it

i just had pho at pho99 in Orange. Darn good. Again i had to fight for 3 slices of lime

Pho 99 isn't bad. Strangely enough, I have been there. It wasn't too far from my work when I worked at our Ameriquest building at the Block in Orange. 3 limes is overkill, perhaps they are begrudgingly giving it to you because they think that is way too much. It might be kind of insulting to the cook kind of places.

Of course, this is the customer's decision, but have you ever heard of the notion where you don't ask for seasoning at a high end restaurant so you don't insult the chef?

Not saying you aren't entitled to your limes, just playing Devil's Advocate.
