While poking around the battery to find a cause for the pesky 93B2 BST code, I found the two wires going to the BST to be damaged.
The wire was zip tied tightly to one of the red cables and even with the plastic sheathing both wires had worn through. Not sure if that is the cause, but I’m sure the wires being like that is not helping anything, either. Luckily enough, I went to a couple of salvage yards yesterday and pulled the connector from an X3 with about 6” of wires attached, so I guess I’ll have to do some surgery to splice that in at some point. Hate to cut into the original harness, but gotta do what you gotta do... Probably a good idea to solder it.

New valved catback exhaust made by Bomiz and vrsf 7.5 race intercooler installed. More quiet than stock when valves closed and straight pipe with the valves open. Perfect system IMO and no drone. I mounted the remote next to my pedal tuner for easy access.
The vrsf race intercooler is also a dramatic improvement over my original vrsf 7" non-hd core. The butt dyno shows a tremendous improvement after both mods ![]()

won the ebay lottery.
my sirius module was giving issue. dropping out, power supply errors, things of that nature. ebay unit has attached lifetime subscription. score. also, they try the super hard retention sell when cancelling a radio. |

I got it on a used car trial on my other car, not in the 335i, so started out 2 mos free. I have used the name your price tool ever since (3X so far). I tell them I want to pay $20 out the door including taxes and fees for 5 mos. So they basically put up a $12 credit to make it an even $20. I really don't want it so I was thinking of offering them $15, and if they say no, voila gone. But with my luck they'll do it!

Unfortunately, when I switched from my E90 to my E92 335is, it didn't have SiriusXM (or so I thought) so I actually DID cancel my BMW subscription. Here's where it gets interesting: My daughter has a subscription in her Armada under my account (she hates calling in for the deal) and just recently, SiriusXM changed their accounts so if you have a subscription, you get online access for free so I've been using my iPhone w/the App through my Tune 2 Air. But I just found out that my car DOES have it, I just have to have it "activated". I actually found it when doing some other work on the car and put up a post asking about activating it so if anyone has any knowledge on the subject, I'm listening...

Wiring Repairs
When I got my 335is, I found some wiring had been cut (long story and I have a post about it) but essentially, nothing from my upper light console forward worked. So I found a donor vehicle and he got me the front half of the wiring harness.
So my guy got into it, and now my compass, Homelink, auto-dimmer, headlight & rain sensor now work as they should. He's gonna go back in Monday and see if he can get the rear upper light console working as well as get the Alarm system working again. Fingers crossed!!

I've been driving the E91 daily since putting it back together and it has been wonderful. Have to be careful about the dying starter, will probably pull that tomorrow.
Cleaned it out this evening and set it up with a sleeping pad and sleeping bag, and heading to a Halloween party at a friend's in Western mass, so nice to be able to stretch out fully. Also replaced the garage door opener and rollers that go around it, so I can get it out without waking up my roommate ![]() |

my brother had this in his e61 for two years, and it's been sitting in a bin for another year since it got totaled. still works. when I first got my e91 it had a subscription and wouldn't let it migrate to my account. about 6 months in it died and I added it that day. so if it quits working no big deal, you just gotta pay. |

Found a carbon hood for $140. Sanded it a bit to shine it up. It's going to be paint matched in a few weeks when the entire car goes under the knife.

Did the rear diff fluid change at 99K Miles and was pretty easy. The fluid was dark colored but not horrible, relieved to get this out out of the way that I was postponing for a while.
