Hey Guys

First post I own a E91 LCI xDrive, Manual, 88500km (more or less 58k miles)

Been playing with MHD for 2 months (stock car otherwise, Shell VPower 100, plugs and coils 7k miles), very happy with the results...
http://datazap.me/u/olivier/log-1500...=0&data=3-5-23

Only problem is an occasional 30ff (happens when hot, usually after a few runs or 1 hour drive...BMW wants a small fortune to change Turbos and 6 injectors, not sure it's really needed) - do you see anything obvious explaining my underboost ? (Iat, wgdc ?)

Thanks a lot

Edit: 30ff was happening before MHD (stock map), again only when hot

Id say you have just a simple boost/vacuum leak goin on, you could start by checking and replacing all the vacuum lines, after that check the charge pipe and other connector while you are one it. Your injectors looks fine to me.
Oh and you intake air temperatures are very high after that pull, you really could use a better fmic.

Thanks, very useful; I already thought about the heatsoak/FMIC (the Touring is heavier, esp. with XDrive, I guess it puts more load on the engine, hence the IAT increase).

Now I need to hunt this leak with the Mityvac...Better that, than replacing expensive stuff that works fine !!!

Your acc.pedal is 100%, but throttle is only 81% on both gears. Reason? Stuck?

I supposed it was a kind of normal behavior, but maybe I'm wrong...no idea of what to look for, here (since the pedal is OK, probably in the engine bay ?)

Check that the throttlebody flap (right before intake) is not mechanically jammed and can open 100%.

Hi everyone from New Zealand. First time poster and first time logger here.
Car is a stock 335i, I have some new plugs and coils and charge pipe that I plan on installing soon before I flash a stage 1 tune.
I did a couple of logs to check everything was as it should be before I begin modding.

http://www.datazap.me/u/bmwjed162/lo...og=0&data=3-23
I ran out of road so didn't quite get full pulls, but hopefully close enough. The questions I have are:
- what causes the throttle closures? I'm 99% sure I had traction control turned off.
- is the small amount of timing corrections on cylinder 4 anything to be concerned about.
- any other points of note from the data?

Any help appreciated. It's great to have a resource like this to come to for information.

Good stock log. What octane?
Throttle closures are typical on stock caused by boost exceeding boost target. Contrary to popular belief traction control drops timing not throttle. Your torque limit, it is 0, which means traction control is not on.

Thanks for the reply. Learning new things every day.
Running 98 octane, I think this is the equivalent to 93RON.
Really happy with the car for the time being.

Hey, took my first logs ever and hopefully did it right.
Here are some 3rd gear pulls.

v7.1 stage 2 | 98 oct/ron | vrsf dp's | bms dci

http://datazap.me/u/beisofmarko/3rd-...og=0&data=3-21

http://datazap.me/u/beisofmarko/3rd-...og=0&data=3-21

Does these look normal or is there maybe something off that explains
why car has been feeling somewhat slower than usual for me?
(turbos and vacuum lines was replaced last summer)

Thanks!

Am doing a check-up on my car and am concerned if the tune is running as well as it should. Car feels good, but I'm have very little clue how to look at the logs in relation to any repairs or maintenance that may be needed. Looks like there are timing pulls here but based on logs, any indication of trouble? Intercooler aside... anything that needs to be fixed? I feel like it might be taking a while to build boost but no 30ff or other codes. Car has 85k+ miles on it, starting to worry about turbos just due to age

First log is a 3rd gear pull, second log is a 2nd through a bit of 4th gear pull. any input is greatly appreciated!

Your boost solenoids could be sticky, as you rightly indicate boost comes on a bit slow. However once you get near target they hold pretty well.

You are dropping some timing, especially in the longer pull. Could be low octane gas, plugs or the fact that your intake air temps (IATs) getting pretty hot. Definitely need a larger intercooler if you're going to be into the boost for any amount of time.

Thanks for the input. So it may be worth it to clean the boost solenoids? Plugs are new within the last 7-8k miles. An intercooler is out of my cards right now unfortunately, might just dial it back. Running the 93oct OTS MHD map

Fwiw Your boost is not slow to build. Hits target around at 500rpm. There may be a small boost leak though.
