Yes I stick to top tear gas, but if the octane isnt there for the 93 tune for whatever reason. I wanted to know if the tune/ecu would help the issue by pulling timing. I think the Vishnu Autotune would do this but I wanted to see if cobb would too.

What I would do is either switch to the 91 map or stock map, at least until I could fill the tank up with better gas. I used the valet map and it took all of 30 seconds to switch...that's pretty cool.

Everyone thinks the piggybacks are doing something magical to run safe, which some are doing to a point, but the bmw designed ecu logic easily trumps these and prevents even the worst designed piggy/tunes from blowing these engines up. To answer your question clearly, yes the ECU (stock or remapped with cobb) pulls timing under poor conditions, its been supported by several logs provided over the last couple months. |

Hi Cobb,
Any update on the ETA for AccessTUNER Pro? EDIT: The reason I'm asking is that today is the last day of Q1 2011 ![]() Last edited by JABM; 03-31-2011 at 04:41 PM.. |

I've had the Cobb installed for a couple of weeks and just wanted to share my drive home last night.......
I'm cruising along and see an Audi Charging up in my mirrors. Not sure which model at this point as they all look the same from the front ![]() ![]() At this point I'm also certain that this isn't an A4 2.0. I let him in front to see what I'm dealing with and see that its an A6 4.2 V8. After a quick look I have no problem passing, and trust me he was trying! I know the audi is a bit heavier and wont win any drag races, but the V8 puts out an underrated 350 bhp, and would normally pull away on my stock 335i. So just a mental note that stage 1 Cobb can handle any Audi product shy of the R8, and maybe the S5............ Unless someone has an S5 experience to share? |

Nice kill dude. I think we are all eagerly anticipating Stage 2 so it won't even be a contest.

As an end user, you will have to pay your tuner to custom tune your car. EBIT: ATP is the vendor version which costs money. ATR is the end user version which on all platforms is free. Last edited by bulldog_yyc; 03-31-2011 at 05:43 PM.. |

Just installed Stage 1...wow! Power comes on quick and lasts!!...I am very happy with the COBB AP product. Chris and Turtle were great to deal with as well. I purchased it from MachV.
I've got a Vanguard exhaust on it as well....great combo! |

Installed the access port last weekend on an 08 E90 335i and the power is incredible. However, a couple times I've had the auto transmission just completely miss the downshift under heavy acceleration. The revs just go on until it's bouncing off the limiter. Then once the revs get to 3k or so, the trans shifts. I've only seen it under WOT acceleration. Anyone else see this problem?

I apologize if this has already been covered elsewhere, but I didn't find the answer after a few searches and I don't have the stomach to read all 52 pages in this thread again, let alone all the others.
![]() My question is: Are there any code scanning/clearing cababilities that a BT scan tool has which the Cobb AP can't perform? My understanding is that the Cobb unit will show you the alpha-numeric code itself, but not what the code means. Aside from that though, are there other limitations as well that would make a BT scan tool relevant to those who have the Cobb AP? |

The Cobb has the ability to read and clear codes though. BT tool isnt 100% necessary on a regular stage 1 car, but I'm glad I bought it for a couple misc things throughout the year. I like having full control. |
