This is why I would put the 6766 on the 335i

So why did they not go this route with the 335i?

I bet the customer wants faster spool and transient response instead of top end since it's a stock block. The supra can spool a 6766 by 3800 rpms and it pulls all the way to 9k. That's a good power band in my eyes My car doesn't even hook in first or down low anyways. The supra also doesn't have vanos so who knows, we may be able to spool the 67 quick on the 335i.

Maybe Shiv or HPF will try this turbo next

The 62mm turbo that we are using is capable of supporting over 750whp. So once we make another 100whp, it's only natural for the 67mm to be next logical step

Any chance to push past 22 psi? Or are you still fine tuning on the stock tmap.

Look at all those 6266 and 6766 - Those are for Evo 8/9, Subaru and Supra kits. Get me a finalized tuning solution and I will build a kit.

The average 6266 build on the evo 8/9 at 35psi puts down around 750whp. The 6 cylinder will be a bit lower (650hp). I have some good graphs of the 6766 on a supra that we put together for the shop. The turbo reaches full boost 25psi at 3800rpms and pulls to 9k on an auto. at 25psi we put down over 700whp. (before we ran out of fuel on the supra)

The 6766 i think is the turbo of choice if you want to make 600 on pump gas numbers and over 700's on race gas.

We are running a 3.5bar MAP sensor now. Still running 20-21psi of boost on a daily driven basis. We have a couple magazine tests/reviews lined up next month so we are going to keep it where it is for the time being since it know it's stable and safe. Once we bet past these obligations, we'll bump up power a bit. Beyond that, we will be going with a built motor that revs higher than 7000rpm At which point a 67mm turbo would be a good fit.

No race gas/meth testing above 21psi? I know that turbo can easily support that, and from your tear-down thread the motor should be alright as long as you have great octane, right?

As mentioned in the last post, we will run more boost after we take car of a few magazine commitments. But until then, we'll keep it as-is at ~600-625whp. Before we start making more power, we have some work to do (DSS axles and proper suspension primarily). Sorry for the thread jack HPF.

Only bad thing to come out of shiv's kit is that upgrades to the procede for us "old" twin turbo setups are going to slow down... :-/

I'm still running software from summer of last year and I still love how the car feels. There's only so many ways to improve a great tune

The fuel pump went out. We got a new fuel pump in it and it is back on the dyno. We're going to turn the boost up to around 520-530rwhp and a little more driveability tuning and it's off to Eric to enjoy. I think there are a couple other components that we're installing which will be very quick.

Chris.

Yeah I think that is straight 92 octane, no meth. Sounds like a nice DD.
