And yes diff will help year round. Lightweight wheels might be more of a headache than they're worth if they're not incredible quality. I don't think I'd ever even consider going above 18" on my car with the roads around here. Sucks balls.
Yea Ive gotten prety good at avoiding potholes but it'd still be a pita

Don't know exactly.

I've spoken to the SA. He claims that this is a common enough occurrance (they see enough of it at Knauz) with the 3 series. Its serious, but easily fixed. I should get my car back without any difference.

I have had this confirmed by my buddy who owns the local Goodyear.

Blizzak LM-25's are very good and also come in a RFT version... most people on here have those. The Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's are also very good and popular, the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's are a tiny bit better (for performance handling at least). I hear the ContiWinterContacts are also good but haven't heard much about um or used them myself.

The Goodyear Eagle Ultra Grip GW3's are the most amazing winters on the planet and I can personally vouch for that cuz I have them... they are probably better handling than my Yokohama S.Drives (which I also love) but they are a little harder to find depending on the size you want/need.

save yourself some $ and just get um from TireRack.com and take them to NTB to be mounted and balanced... you'll still save a good chunk of change doing it this way plus you aren't limited to just the brands that NTB carries.
