mid 80s 911. Classic timelines.

We have one sitting at the shop now...early 80s with a late 80s EFI 3.0L engine in it...shes a bit rough around the edges...but she is a track car too...the convertible top is a mess. And the owner wants 17 k..sheesh

I mean hes got backdated heaters and such on the engine, but the paint is meh, the seats have to go (some tight deep ass momo buckets that I hate) and the top is totally not working at all. Like the windows dont even stop anywhere near the edges, and its all tattered. Its got a rollbar in it, and with a vert you have to race it top down anyways..so thats prolly why he dont care.

He got a GT3 anyways lol.

Still not worth 17k imo

and every one of them Ive driven with a 915 gearbox, all the linkages are sloppy as shit. No one even just gets replacement bushings from the dealer!

I hate being in a gear, then being able to move the shifter around like im in neutral

GT3 is nice and i would think its worth that much probably could find something in a more decent shape for that price.

The car I really want is a 78 we had sitting at the shop a while back. Really clean. For a coupe, it was in perfect condition, because I fixed whatever that was wrong with it. Sunroof was fixed, bled the brakes, replaced the heater box hoses cuse they were torn...fixed his A/C.

Car drove like a million bucks. And he has a mid 80s turbo as well thats all well maintained. They arent concours cars but they are so well rounded he wouldnt even sell them.

no verts for me..

i would find a nice coupe do some bodywork..paint it and drop a air cooled turbo in there with some hybrids..
