When it's my time, it's my time. Doesn't matter where I'm at or what I'm doing.
I've done a lot of dangerous things in my life, I'm going to continue doing real dangerous things.

In fact, as I age I do more dangerous things, as I have less worthwhile time to lose.

You're never truly living unless you're on the edge of death.

the benefits of realizing early on that I never wanted children is a lifetime spent doing things most people wouldn't because they're afraid of the consequences or failing their responsibilities.

the amusing thing is that I now take way more care in the shop to not injure myself in some stupid accident, but I willingly take risks with my life for the thrill of it.

so no, I'm not worried about the smell in the oven.
I may die in a skydiving accident, or get hit by a drunk driver tomorrow.
nothings guaranteed, except that at some point we all die.

nothing bad about that.

Pulled my intake manifold off. I'll put the stage 3 manifold in tomorrow. It took about an hour to pull, I'm hoping I'll be able to put it back together in 2.

Today’s plan for the e91 was to get some summer tires, clean the barrel of the wheels and fender liners, wash engine bay, remove any tar on the paint, restore headlights, replace 1 ballast, replace both angel eye bulbs, clay bar, polish and wax the paint and clean the interior with Lexol leather cleaner.

All I was able to do was get some tires, wash the engine bay and mildly clean the wheels and wash the paint to the point where I can clay bar it. LOL. Washing it took a while in the time I had.
The rest will follow tomorrow.

and awwaaaaaaayyyyyy we go.
actually they've been in there for thirty minutes already.
no terrible smells.
I'm probably about to go swap a batery in an impala, in 3 inches of snow and ice.
yay!.
oven is set to automatically turn itself off in another 30 minutes.

Finally got my winter shoes on! Went from 16" runflats to 17" regular / extended load tires, and the ride is SO SMOOTH. Runflats can die in a fire.

And I really like the look of the 98's

Looking at the snowmelt, I need to move over the hood liner from the old wagon before I scrap it this week.

Got the stage 3 manifold in but I can't get the tune to load. I might try a different laptop.

whats' the issues?

using the bimmergeeks batch file?

run the batch file in an open command prompt window so you can actually see what it's doing.
I'm assuming that you may have a file path issue like I had. it's not hard to remedy, just copy/paste the files or change the batch file.

all assuming that you don't have any issues with the cable/communications.

I keep getting a fatal error message when I try to run it. I'm not sure if the cable is connecting to be honest. Do I need to run the rsa delete then the tune or can I download them both and run together?

you have to run the RSA delete first.
that's what lets you load the unsigned new code in it that changes the map/disa things.

I'm assuming you have INPA or ISTA on this same laptop.
Open INPA and make sure the two black dots for power/comms are filled in.
if so, you've got it setup right.
if not, diagnose general edibabas INPA communications errors.

if your communications work and inpa/ista work, then run the batch file from bimmerlabs in an open command prompt window so it's output doesn't disappear, then you'll know why it's not loading properly.
the batch file just automates winkfp.
so all of that stuff needs to be setup first.

I'm not sure about that. I had a fully functiong winkfp install with all of the daten information imported into it.

right click on the bimmerlabs batch file, click edit. open it in notepad.
check the filesystem locations it's looking for files in. Make sure the files are actually in those locations.

If they're in a folder that doesn't have user file permissions, then run the batch file in a command prmompt started with the administrator account.

just to be certain, you've checked that the cable now communicates in inpa?

The cable isn't communicating I don't think. I can't do anything in inpa.

then that's likely the root of your issue.

have you checked that the cable is seen as a com port in the device manager?
Set that com port to the recommended settings?

IIRC it's com1, xor off 38400 baud?
Can't remember the exact settings as it's been a while and my inpa machine is currently in an office 20 miles from here.

you may have to run them as administrator to grant the programs access to the hardware as well.
windows 10 does some security things.
You can right click/properties the shortcut icon and set it for win7 compatibility and to run as admin every time you launch it in the compatibility tab.
You'll see the UAC screen when you open it to click yes on.

It's showing up in the device manager. I'll play around with it I guess. It was easier to bolt the damn intake on than it's been to get the tune on.

You’re so close!

It took me 7 hrs to install the intake. 30 mins to reflash the ecu.

Make sure to post your first impressions here. Interested to see how you like it.
