Autocar Report

This week's [UK] Autocar magazine has a feature. I will scan it in when I get time.

Key UK facts that I have not seen reported in the thread yet are:
335i will be "less than £34,000"
325i Coupe will be £28,090
xDrive "unlikely to be offered in the UK"

Launching on 23 Sept 2006 with the 325i, 330i, 330d and 335i. The 320i and 320d versions will arrive later.

No word in a 335d

Autocar was just citing what was in the UK press release. Here's the information from UK release on pricing and launch date.

Damn, beat me by a couple hours. Just got back from Edmonton BMW. I also have all the info for Canada except pricing. I am #1 to order and still subject to pricing. (ie I can always walk away and haven't negotiated a price yet)

Jason...
May need to update interior colors as there looks to be grey and JADE grey on Canadian specs.

Could jade grey actually have green in it??? I noticed it can't be ordered with deep green ext color.

Seems strange that Canadians can't get Brushed Alum trim with leather interior in the 328i??? IE Dark colors like Black & Saddle Brown look so much better with it...

Yeah I was also confused by that because it doesn't list the others as standard only options...so what the heck is standard on 328s

The standard trim on the 328i Coupe will be the Titanium Light which is similar to what is standard in an e90 325, the aluminum look plastic. If you look at the chart it shows it standard. The 335i coupe comes with the Aluminum Trim standard as the (1) note states on the bottom of the page.

Boy,

The sports suspension is standard on both 328 and 335 - a tougher call on whether the Sports package on those cars is really worth it (depends how much BMW will want for the mags and seats).

As well, just realized the there is quite a bit a extra weight on the coupe - wonder if that cancels out any increase in the Hp to 230 of the 328, as compared to the current e90 325 at 215 ?.........

Your question can be answered by the power-to-weight ratio. It comes down to how much weight each horse has to carry.
.MODEL..|.WEIGHT..|...HP....|Power2Weight|.0-60..
e90 325i | 3285 lbs | 215 HP | 15.3 lbs/HP | 6.7 sec
e92 328i | 3351 lbs | 230 HP | 14.6 lbs/HP | 6.2 sec
e90 330i | 3417 lbs | 255 HP | 13.4 lbs/HP | 6.1 sec
e92 335i | 3571 lbs | 300 HP | 11.9 lbs/HP | 5.3 sec

Each car gets more weight but also gets more HP. So much more HP that the power-to-weight ratio actually decreases allowing for a faster car.

I think those sports seats are worth any price. They are so nice and being 6'3" the thigh support is great for me. Its weird that the 335i in the UK has even the seats as standard...I guess they won't even have a sports pkg just diff wheels.

Does anyone know if the US 328i (i think thats what will replace the 325i) will get the dual exhaust like the ones seen in the 335i photos?

Nope...Just the dual exhuast. BMW said it will be the same as on the 330i E90 so expect left side two pipes and chrome tips.

PDC Query

Saw a posting that referred to front and rear PDC on an E90. The UK spec includes rear PDC but no reference to front as an option. Is front PDC not an option in any country?
