The track prep was horriable. there was no VHT set down and my car even with dr's still spun through 1st,2nd, and into 3rd gear. Still managed a 12.9 with a 2.2 60' time. I usually got 1.8 60' times and was running 12.8's all day with the V1.47 only. So Im hoping when the track is set better I will be around 12.2-12.3's.

It was cool meeting up with you guys. I had a blast, but man, it was crowded. Nothing like last November. I got slower and slower as the day went on - 110, 109, 108 so I stopped running. I only managed a 13.2 which was no better than my IS350's best runs but my speed was 5mph faster. Like the other guys here, I couldn't launch better than 2.1. I'm suspecting the DA wasn't as low as it could be cuz many guys were doing worse than expectations. Honestly, I really thought I'd be getting high 12's. Oh well.
BTW, for those that are keeping count, I'm thinking the V2 tuned 335i probably beats an IS-F from a dig - Kevin had better trap - I think he was at 112 or so and I only manged a 110. But I got an extra spare tire on him besides the one in the trunk. LOL On a roll, I think a V2 and IS-F is pretty much a driver's race - whoever gets on the gas first is the winner. I did get a chance to run against the new M3 yesterday, but it wasn't a good run for the M3 because of his launch 2.5 60'. Once we got rolling, it seemed that the M3 and I were pretty much not gaining/losing ground. Somebody took a video of it. Maybe it'll work it's way to youtube. -Young |

Hey young, nice meeting you. Next time we go out and the track is actually prepped we have to do it again and see what we really run.

For me:
Best ET run: 13.085 s, 111.74 mph, 2.180 60' Best Trap run: 13.172s, 112.82 mph, 2.255 60' Clearly if I could just figure out how to launch I'd have much better ETs. Damn 6MT! I think I should be in the mid to upper twelves. I need more practice. Then again, most everyone was running relatively slow, so maybe I shouldn't complain. The Shelby GT500 that showed up later in the day was quite modded, claimed to put down 550 WHP and he ran in the mid twelves. Don't remember the trap on that, but he should be way lower on the ET. I was a little bummed by the fact that the latest V2 software, Forge DVs, Bastuck exhaust, 2nd cat delete, SSK, PS2s, and a little bit more experience didn't produce better times (not that I would have expected very much from these, maybe a tenth or two). Then again, I think I was pretty conservative with my launches this time and that might be why. I didn't want to screw up a run since the wait was rather long. My best run last time (Nov 07) was 13.103/113.78/2.194. It was pretty crowded and I'd imagine when its not $12 to race we won't see as many Focuses, Cobalts, and Accords. But there was plenty to see and it was nice to meet up with all of you for the first time or again in some cases. The vette race was definitely a highlight of the day, fun to watch!!! I was also happy to see the E92 M3 and IS-F in person for the first time. Both were very nice cars. It was worth being there even if you were not racing... lots to see and everyone was friendly no matter what they drove. I hope to make it up to GLD maybe once or twice more, even better if we can get a private event at the strip sometime. But I'm really focusing on the Windy City BMWCCA Autocrosses this year. Hope to see some of you there!

The track was not prepped well because all of the real "track" cars are not out yet. Still to cold and risky for them to go down the track. When GLD has events they prep the track really good but yesterday it was a waste for them to do so with all the focuses and cavaliers there. Our vette slipped down the whole track but still pulled a decent respectable time. Give it a few weeks or go to byron, they actually have their track prepped perfect every time.
Kevkaz, your cars gorgeous. Lets trade since you want white! lol Nice car. |

Especially after seeing your car, I really dig AW with the black wheels. I was never a fan of black wheels till I saw the combo in person on your car. Add in some black grilles and black out the silver trim and it will look so sweet. I can't decide if I should do the same, I already have everything to do it and just haven't put it on yet. Might give it a shot in the summer. But after seeing your car (I think it might have even been the first AW 335 I've ever seen!) I'm now sure my next 335/M3 will be AW.

I'm not sure if the upgrade is REALLY needed, but I did it to be safe. The stock ones are pretty weak compared to these. But either way this car definitely has two diverter valves. They're pretty easy to spot.

^^^ No, what i meant is DV comparing to BOV.
At least here, in Audi/VW scence, we cant have BOV on our turbo cause it wouldnt work. There are some kind of BOV like Forge 004 (was designed for audi/vw turbos) or i think HKS SSQV thay you can use cause they are closed at idle. But to run strong boost everyone recommends a DV. I just didnt know that anyone else is using Diverter Valve.

ive had no issues with boost leak from my hks ssq. It stays closed at idle and instead of recitcilating it just releases into the atmosphere.

So it appears that 12.92 was the best for the day for modded 335i, IS-F, and M3? What was your trap speed Nick? I believe the DA was around 500 feet or so. I think last november the DA was like -1000 or so.

Its pretty clear to me that the times posted on Sunday were not representative of what anyone's cars can really do.
