Could you PM me prices for a complete kit for front brake (pads, rotor, sensor) for 2008 Sedan E90 328i ship to 68154?
Pads: Ceramic Akebono Rotor: ECS Sensor: OEM Install kit: (is it required?) -- going to have indy store do it. Stainless Steel Brake Lines: (is it required?) And looks like the rotor is still out of stock for about a month? What's the warranty period on it if there's any? Thanks. |

I have the ECS slotted/crossdrilled rotors, Akebono Ceramic pads, & SS lines on my E92 - one of the best mods I ever did
I had to wait till the maintenance warranty ran out so as to not void the brakes & did the install myself. The Akebono's are virtually dust-free & I really don't notice too much of a difference in braking performance. Plus they are 'rotor friendly' so rotors will last much longer. I've had them on now for 8 months and there is no lip worn into the rotors - with the OEM rotors/pads there would already be a noticeable lip Not having to clean totally black wheels 2X/week (due to brake dust) & rustfree rotors (due to the coating) is a plus...

Update: So last year I did the rear brakes GEOMET rotors and red stuff pads. This week I ordered the front setup and just got my front rotors and pads this past Friday. FAST shipping!
Stay tuned for pics of the front brake job! |

What's up forum!
Here is an update on the front brake job. New drilled and slotted rotors (ECS Tuning), Red Stuff Pads (Amazon) great price, sensor, & stainless brake rotor screw: The truth is I didn't need a break job but I had done the rear rotors last year and decided it was time for all 4 to be the same. The 1 small setback that I need to figure out and I have read its a common issue, all of sudden the brakes are SQUEAKING! For the last 89K miles no issue and then NEW brakes and squeaking, its driving me mad... Besides the squeaking which I know is a common issue. I LOVE me the drilled rotors front and back, great bite and easily 75% less dust with the red stuff pads. Thanks ECS for fast shipping and great product! |

miamimbj did you bed in the RedStuffs? They require a "hot" bed in procedure to mate them with the rotor and quiet them down. Below is a quote from our "brake pad bedding procedures" pdf

Has anyone had any luck painting these rotors? I know the GEOMET coating is supposed to last longer than the OEM coating, but it gets pretty bad up here in the winter with the road salt and I want my brakes to look rust free for a while?
I assume I should use a high temperature zinc compatible paint? Let me know! |
