on my block the dealer keeps putting it off, I had 3rd oil change under my ownership and still NO replacement of fuel filter

called around there is no way of convincing them to do it, the tech makes a call and it does not matter if you tell them about the service journal 2nd oil change interval

I feel like I saw 30k somewhere... every other sounds good but ill be doing mine every 3rd as I do oil changes at the 8k mark and 16k sounds a bit short for these.

I can't find the reference but I got in my head the factory interval oil change for the diesel is 13,000 miles, while the gasoline is/used to be 15,000 miles.

So that means new fuel filter every 26k per factory service manual recc.

They changed mine at 25k miles based on the key fob. That was even before the second oil change at 27k. But the oil change delay was because they screwed up the computer.

So even more confusion for this part. I'm being told that for my model year, the part # has changed to:

13-32-7-802-939

And that I'm looking at $250 for it.

EDIT: Turns out that includes the heater too. My bad.

So is there any tool out there that works to vent/prime the HPFP for model years newer than 09? I have a 2011 and it appears the BT tool doesnt support models newer than 09. I'd like to change the FF myself, but I dont want to run the HPFP dry....

FYI, I talked to the BT support people late last week; they said they've got the new software that supports 335d/2010+ and newer F3x cars out there in beta test and will be rolling it out within the next month.

I have a Windows phone; no BMWhat for me.

thanks for this bit of info. I had the dreaded SES light come on last Friday. Car is going into the shop tomorrow. P02CE, "Cylinder 2 Fuel Injector Offset Learning At Min Limit". Looks like carbon build up has bit me.

I've used the Bavarian Technic tool to prime the fuel pump on my 2011 335d. Many times. From back on post 7 of this thread:

Ya. I've read/heard anywhere from 30-45 k miles but it's hard to get a concrete answer.

Just replaced the filter today.

After removing the under body panels (Jess refers to them as alien muff) I undid the bolt securing the filter to the frame. Clamped the outlet hose and put the filter nipple from the new one onto the old one to keep it from leaking everywhere. Pulled off the other end of the filter and plugged the end it with my finger. Quickly put the other filter in its place and started securing everything. Lost 10 or so drops of fuel.

Cranked the car for 2-3 seconds and shut it down and waited a minute. Repeated. And it started on the third attempt. At most it cranked for 7-8 seconds before purring like a kitten.

Total time about 2.5 hours - oil change at the same time and I was not in a rush since it's my first time with this fuel filter.

I bought several things from IDparts.com back early this year including the fuel filter, air filter, and 2 oil filters. After reading the thread (particularly where Greek talks about Mann 519), I'm concerned if this Mahle part is proper. I'm Googling around but though I'd ask if anyone had used this part. thanks.

Mahle and Mann part numbers could be different as long as they cross reference the same bmw part number you should be good.

Bavarian Autosports sells a Mahle KL579D fuel filter for the 335d. I don't see the "D" on the photo you posted.

Quasi modem, the box is marked KL579D but filter marked is as you say. On rock auto, they show this part is for 2009-2010. I feel this is the same story as WK519 vs WK5001. I'm not going to chance it and go buy the WK519
