Anybody know a good dealership outside of Tom Williams for service? I have never been so consistently underwhelmed by a group of people as I have by them. I will drive to Tuscaloosa or Decatur if they are reliable and reasonable. Any thoughts?

I made it over there this past Saturday, but I got distracted and didn't get to meet any of the BMW guys there. I was in the gray 335i convertible.

Yeah I really like Joey in Trussville. Problem is just getting factory warranty issues resolved and other things like a DME upgrade (dealership only I believe)

I usually see a few at the Cars and Coffee event Saturday mornings at Brookwood Mall. Other than that, I'm not sure of any secret hang-out spots for the BMW guys. But if anyone hears of any, let me know!

What transmission do you have? I just started e85 on my car, but the clutch has started to slip pretty bad above 15psi. Seems I'm looking at $1,200+ just for the parts (clutch/SFW)

Just DCI, JB4, and muffler delete. With e85 and autotune I hit about 17psi. But put it back on map 1 for now while I wait for a new clutch.

Anyone in Alabama that has done jb4 install and remove?
preferably closer to Huntsville area.

I got my 335i with the jb4 installed and liked it for a while but decided to go the cobb route. and i love acessport 100x better IMO.

But now i want to remove the jb4 (so i can sell it and get some extra cash for my new exhaust). I have seen the install videos and read on the forums but becuase i actually never did the install in the first place, looking at all the wires looks a bit intimidating. So was wanting to get some experinced help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriecated. Thx.

Does anyone know a quality auto electrician or non-dealer shop that can diagnose or repair a faulty DME?

A misfire that I originally thought might just be a bad injector now seems to lead to a failed DME. It seems a lot of guys on the forums are having this issue with a certain production date in mid 2007. One or more MOSFET transistors within the DME burn out and cause erratic injector behavior.

It is warrantied by federal emmisions standards till 80,000 miles but I just passed that mark, so it looks like it will be up to $3,000 at the dealer for a replacement.

But fortunately this can be repaired with a $2 transistor, from what I have been reading. I have soldered in the past, but don't trust myself with something this important.

E-mail sent!

Running JB4 piggy-back for about 5 months. Pulling a 30ba code (DME internal failure) and sporadic misfires from mostly cylinder 2, but also others at times. Engine fires up with noticeable misfire on single cylinder, then loses all power and stalls between 5-10 seconds.

Fortunately I can ride the motorcycle to work in the meantime, but it's definitely a bit warm with my full suit and tie outfit.

Can someone recommend a good window tint shop in the Birmingham area? Need to replace some scratched and bubbling tint.
