from what i have searched this means that i have the logic 7 system.
all i want to know is, is there a cheaper alternative to changing out this amp? maybe something aftermarket? i know this should all be in this thread but ive tried looking and cant figure this out. im not looking to upgrade or anything i just want my sound back. ive seen these amps go for over 1000$ and i really dont want to spend that.
Look in FS section or post a wanted ad. These go for around 300 -500 used.

also i keep reading that if you still have the key in ignition gong and door open gong it is not your amp,but i still have these gongs. how can i check if the amp is dead or not.
im also getting a crossed out SOS light on the dash, from what i understand that means the MOST signal is broken,so that would mean the amp is gone correct?
sorry i am extremely confused with this!!

Mobridge DA2 and JBL MS-8 would run you about 1000. Or you can use a 6 channel amp instead of ms8 if you want a very basic setup.

Alternatively you can recode the HU to HiFi and use a 6 channel amp but this would also be very basic.

PS suggest you start your own thread.

So I just installed a Pioneer HU in my 2010 328i and I'm having some problems with the memory saving. After research and testing I now know that the constant gets shit off after an hour of sitting. What am I suppose to do!? I love my new HU especially compared to the piece of JUNK that came in the car. I really don't feel like running a wire to my battery considering it is on the complete opposite side of the car and that's a lot of broken plastic pieces in the end haha. Is there any fuse in the car that is actually a 12V constant? I was going to post my own thread but I can't because I've been a member of the site for less than 24 hours. PLEASE HELP!

MS-8... mid/tweet.... Use separate amp channels for mid and tweet? Or just use one channel and then the crossover that's normally included with component sets?

Pros / Cons of each setup?

Thanks!

For details see the MS-8 processor integration thread but basically use passive crossovers and use a single channel for each L/R (mid+tweet) comp set.

First Post! Stock stereo upgrade with Cleansweep questions.

Thanks to everyone who contributes here!

Question for anyone:
I have a 2010 E90 with the base "Stereo" system that I'm looking to upgrade. It doesn't sound bad (when the volume is low and you're wearing ear plugs...)

I'm looking at installing a JL Audio Cleansweep followed by a JL XD600/6 to power the speaker / under-seat woofers (which will be replaced, not sure with what yet.)
From what I've been reading, my stock HU filters the speaker outputs depending on what speaker it's going to. But the Cleansweep will basically remove that filtering and give me a flat EQ curve to all speakers, right?
If that's the case, does anyone see a problem running the Cleansweep to the XD600/6 amp? I would run separate channels to each speaker (new lines for the under-seat woofers.)

I also have a JL 500/1v2 amp and JL 13TW5 sub that I'm considering putting in the trunk. Since the Cleansweep will remove the filtering, will I be able to run that amp by tapping the rear deck speakers?

I've done a few system overhauls before, but it's a totally different beast trying to work with this stock HU and all it's specifics.
Thanks!

You should really start a thread.

However, while a CleanSweep can reverse most EQing, it can't restore all crossover-filtered signals. If you summed the F and R channels, which would restore the bass, youd lose the fade. But anyway, Why would you want your sub on the rear speakers?

Hi guys,

I own a bmw 330D 2006 and want to do a small audio upgrade.
My car is equipped with PDC front/rear and a telephone module all OEM BMW.

I need to know if all of this functions are still available with an upgrade. By upgrade I mean changing the oem speakers and amp.

Can anyone help me out?
It's a hifi system so that's positive.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, search the forum using terms such as 'retain pdc' and you should get some hits.

For people who want to know..

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=retain+pdc

So I guess it's always possible to keep all te original sounds/functions if you keep your OEM HU.

Thank you.

Soon, after more and more reading, I will start my own thread. Any help is welcome

Hi I am think about this setup:

Amp: JL Audio XD600/6
Mid + Tweet: Focal K2 Power 100KRS
Bass: probably Earthquake SWS-8 /is there something better in same price?

Shall take rather BSW stage 1?

Why there is the crossover in Focal set, when the OEM tweeters have their own cabel connected, or not??

Thanks

Hi,
I am little bit unhappy. Ebay seller SoundOfTriState cancelled my order for refurbished amp JL XD600/6

Does anybody know where can I get the amp around 350 USD? I will pay for shipping to europe and import fees.

Thanks

Thank you guys so much for putting this all together. It has definitely helped me figure out how to go about upgrading the system I'm working on. 2011 335d with base stereo w/ CIC Nav.

Need to get in contact with Technic so I can order a harness from him as well as contacting BimmerTech to talk to him about remotely recoding the HU. PM or email me at nlovett72@gmail.com if either of you happen to see this please.
