Can anyone confirm if this DIY is the same for a 2010 LCI E90 with halogen?

Also do they make a aftermarket harness to plug into the OEM harness to eliminate modifications being done to the OEM harness?

We modified wiring inside headlights, so the original OEM harness works fine and you can easily revert back to halogen if needed

Hi All

Just to show off a bit more... what I mean by stealth is that I did not cut or tap the wires using a butt connector or any other sort of method. I did the wiring mod on the connection pins of the headlight, see picture.

yep i do get errors for the high beam since its pin is being used for the shutter and when AE are turned off by themselves i do also get for the side lamps. But errors shouldn't be the issue right? cause i can have errors but they can still function.

Can it be because since i am only testing, i only connected one side and the other side still has the normal halogen connected?

this tutorial is not for lci with frm3!

If you follow this one, your lci car would tell you 1 short circuit and 2 disconnect error ;your dash will show cc-id378/379

Does anyone know if the MANUAL leveling will work? i.e. the adjuster wheel next to the light switch?

It's strange i can't find a single mention of this despite searching for hours!

Any information on this will be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to answer my own question, as nobody else did!

I fitted oem pre lci xenons to my pre lci halogen e90 today. Coding to xenon breaks the operation of the manual level control so i didn't change the vo, so all i did was code out the two low beam checks:-

NFRM module
KALTUEBERWACHUNG_AL to nicht_aktiv (low beam cold)
WARMUEBERWACHUNG_AL to nicht_aktiv (low beam warm)

And of corse i did the 2 wiring mods, and it all works perfectly, except i won't get a warning if a xenon bulbs fails, but i would rather that than not have level control.

But still if anyone knows how to have level control and low beam bulb checks please let me know!

I did the same thing as you, however I did change the VO but didnt have to alter other code lines. All working - error free.

I have a 2006 bmw 325i. I purchased euro spec bi xenon headlights. I followed your diagram. The passenger headlight works fine. The driver side is giving me issues. I connected the ground wire. When I put the key in the ignition, everything comes on. After 3-5 minutes the driver side low beam just cuts off. I have noticed that when a trouble code for my brakes is displayed on my dash, the low beam light turns back on. Do you know how I can fix this issue?

I had this problem, except for the brake trouble code bit, it was because of a fake osram xenon bulb. Replaced it with a genuine one and never had a problem again!
