Hey Shiv

Thanks for the reply, just to clarify if i had bad gas i would be getting knocking codes wouldnt i? what im asking is can any other damage be done running 98% on pump gas if im not knocking and boost is staying low?
The reason im asking is that the first good performance im feeling is at 98%.
I know playing it safe is 94% but if i wanted to play it safe i could have sold my procede and been bored if im not getting any fuel problems and car is running fine at 98% and boost is below 14 PSI, you know the car inside out is there some underlying damage been done before i see knocking?

for example a car at sea level runs 96% on pump gas 15 PSI boost, you dont suggest running 96% without 93 oct gas. Will this car experience knocking codes cause of octane that is to low??? what other signs would there be beside knocking?

IE: WHAT DAMAGE IS DONE TO A CAR AT MY ALTITUDE RUNNING GOOD QUALITY 91 GAS AT 98% IF NO KNOCKING IS OCCURING AND CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS GREAT?

Thanks again for the help.

I met up with M&M his car is very quick, V1.47 DP and cat back. Damn those DP's make the car spool so fast he pulls about a car length just cause of my lag.And is sounds amazing i cant wait to get mine in. Nice car M&M

Use the small connector, and just connect it to a wire bunch (make sure its fully closed). If the tach signal doesn't work with car running try a different one.

Try the brown one first. Really depends on what kind of induction pick-up the dyno has. If that doesn't work, try the yellow one.

Hey dude, nice meeting you. Your car is a beaut. The coupe has really stunning lines, and the blue is just the bomb. Thanks for the runs.

For what it's worth, I had my window open on most of the runs (from 2nd gear to over 220km/h on the 1st run) and I didn't hear any detonation. Zilch. Plus your car pulls smooth with no hesitation, so I don't think octane is an issue.

I have a beta v2.0.3 I was working on last week that made the nice 400whp/400lbft target I was hoping for but weather has been too bad for any street testing. The idea is to keep max torque "reasonable" while making good power. We've made as high as 430whp before but that was close to the limit of the fuel system.

Shiv
Shiv: im ready to beta test 2.0.3 meth injection should be installed (i should say completed) by tuesday latest. Let me know

Thanks for all the dynos that have appeared lately. Deck, Terry, NPDAN and others. Each dyno provides additional info on the contribution of the factors such as octane, boost, CAI, cone filters in the engine bay, DPs, adapting, ...

screw that dyno place, old POS doesnt know crap about cars, or better yet how to dyno them.... took him ten runs to give me some crappy numbers! partially my fault since i didnt do the research on how to dyno auto's, but he still should have known, 75$ to waste... 324whp 351trq, not possible....

Shiv
Hey guys, well, I got back into town yesterday night.
Spoke to NPDan on the phone while he was at the dyno.
As I understand it he got
370 rwhp
440 rwtq

on 100 Octane at 100% settings.
With little adaptation time between 96% settings and 100% settings.

Not bad for a basically stock car (with the exception of the Borla axleback)

I agree with what Shiv said above here.
Dan seemed a bit bummed by only getting 370 rwhp.
But as he stated he'd of seen a bit more with proper adaptation.
But still I think he was shooting for closer to 400 rwhp.

But as I mentioned to him, he is seriously limited by air intake.
IIRC, Dan is even on the stock air filter. K&N drop in would allow a bit better breathing and probably help greatly on his car with the amount of boost he's pushing.

With running 100 Octane and 100% settings, with that much boost, he is just not getting enough air IN to get the 400 whp mark.

Clearly he's making the power down low with 440 rwtq.
That's monster, but below 4000 rpms (where that torque is made) the car doesn't need as much air, so the power is there.

But as the rpms climb his car is most certainly struggling for air to make the power the v2 on 100 octane with 100% settings is capable of.
Not enough air, power is dropping.

I would suspect that EITHER a good cold air intake OR a catless DP set up would open the breathing enough for him to see the ~400 rwhp he wants.

Do both (intake and DP's) and NPDan would see ~410 rwhp on his car.

Good job Dan 370 rwhp on v2 without any breathing mods is great.
I think long ago Shiv stated that without (at least) an intake for better breathing 360-370 rwhp would be the max we'd see on this car's stock intake/DP set up. He nailed it and clearly did the testing to know that, and your results support that to a T

Everything is correct, except I do have a K&N drop in.... However, im going to clean and re oil up my ITG filter and run with this in for a while.... I want to get back to the dyno but I think I'll wait until Vishnu's intake is available... Thanks Driver72...

No worries Dan.
I thought you "might" have a drop in, hence getting dyno results on the higher end of the 360-370 rwhp max Shiv stated for the v2 with a stock airbox and stock DP's. Since you had the K&N you might of only seen 365 rwhp with OEM paper filter.

Anyway, your car makes tons of power.
If people question whether race gas or the user torque settings really do anything, consider, on my v2 PROcede settings at 92% on 92 Octane and with K&N drop in filter as my only other performance mod, on that same dyno I got:
345 rwhp
352 rwtq

You only have a Borla axleback more than me, which might be worth 10 rwhp and 10 rwtq.

So in that regard you are putting down somewhere around
15 rwhp
80 rwtq
more than my car.
With better air flow / breathing from just an intake it'll be more like

+35 rwhp
+80 rwtq

Party on (as Bill and Ted used to say).
