I think it's bad info. With higher boost you get even more blow by and there is even more need for the OCC. You can vent to atmosphere as you're doing but in addition to being illegal it's going to smell horrendous and spray oil out of the breather under boost. When running at 25psi+ BMS catches 1/4 of an OCC worth of oil during an average rolling race weekend. With the OCC in place you can vent that if you want but you'll still get the odor issues. BMS suggests routing the OCC outlet back to the filter inlet as FFTEC kits are setup.

I rather change a filter than have all that pressure in my head. The check valve in question here is the one in the vent hose, the other is closed under boost. The ONLY reason that bmw runs the vent hose back into the induction tube is for emissions and that is the ONLY reason. They're is very little vaccum applied to it. What is the vacuum for? It is too suck that crap back into the motor thru the turbo/induction tube ect. A catch can is a bit restrictive because it has a abstruction in flow path and that builds pressure causing turbo oil drain problems and not mention sucking oil crap thru my turbo. Pressure will go to the least resistance, I rather it go thru my unristrictive filter than blow out a crankcase shaft seal ect. I wouldn't call this bad info.

Not trying to be rude Mike lol! I bought my 1st mods from you.

You're under estimating how much oil is going to spray all over your engine bay that way at higher boost levels. You'll see. The BMS OCC is extremely high flow and has been well tested in single turbo applications. It's not going to be a restriction. There is nothing wrong with what you're doing its just going to eventually make a big mess IMHO.

I have that vid, I drove it today and this kit spooled as fast if not faster than my RB's. Car is faster on map 4 with only wastegate pressure (15 PSI) Than my RB's without question. The spooling is insane....I was not expecting that.

I am concerned about pressure, if it is proven to be high flow I would route the OCC into the system. My buddy had this OCC on his fttech 5862 and when dynoed had steam come out abd had like a oil sweat on the OCC lines. I have had this happen as well with my RB setup...NOT on the OEM turbo setup. Only when I started boosting higher. This to me is pressure build up.

I will say you will get a odor but only at higher boost levels. Not at normal driving.

I've been running VTA for a while. It'll drop a lot of oil & Rob will end up dropping a tube down the rear of the engine or continue to clean his engine bay :P

It's not -that- bad, though.

I was thinking if running the filter down to the undertray but that would make make it pool oil more. I may build a shield.
