Car looks great but the split shots are a little confusing.

Thanks Sparky. I did those shots to show the difference between with/without the corner splitters. What is it that confused you? I'll try to clarify if I can!

It was a beautiful evening so I took the opportunity to give the car a quick wash and wax top up, here are a couple of pics:

I really struggle with removing baked/dried on insects. Does anyone have a magic solution? I have a BMW branded product but it doesn't seem to do much on the baked on ones. I end up scraping them off with a finger nail which I hate doing but I just don't know how else to remove them! Tips welcome!

LCI rear lights are still not in but hoping to have that sorted shortly. Still looking for someone to code not too far from me.

Car looks great Ess. Makes me wanna DA mine, havent DA'd this car yet.

Whenever i use sprays to removes insects it takes the wax off, so be sure to reapply after. Unless you find an insect removing spray that doesnt remove wax. In that case let me know!

It will, insect removing sprays disolve the insects basically. Try using a clay bar, will remove the crap without taking off to much of your protection.

See above for insects

I was confused because if you are going to post a before and after you need to shoot the shots with the same saturation. The befores have a lot of contrast [ white balance was up a lot] the afters had , by the looks of it a lot of hdr filter. Just my 2p and not to be taken as a critisism.

Thanks Sam! And yes, I know!! Tints and a drop are desperately required... Possibly this month's pay check

I'm still keen on the Bilstein coilovers but have been thinking about just getting their springs and dampers... Not sure what would be best

Thanks Mo! I don't have the skills or tools to do it so I entrusted it with someone I know who is extremely talented and the result is beautiful. All but the heaviest of marks have come out, the surface is like glass If you can do it yourself, it's a must!!

I'll let you know for insect spray. I rewaxed today as I thought it might remove the wax. To be honest, the spray didn't do much

Thanks for the clay bar tip for the insects, I hadn't thought of that but will be sure to try it next time

I get what you mean now about the before/after pics. Interestingly both befores and afters were taking on my rubbish phone camera (although on different days) so I'm surprised they came out so differently now you mention it. I'm not very good at editing photos, it was just a quick and dirty way of showing the difference - but I take your point!

Clay bar works well on insects, mine looks like the insect house at Regents Park Zoo after my commute in this weather. Also get yourself a bottle of quick detailing spray, I recommend Sonax [ i would they that, sponsor my team] but, it is awesome and tops off your car after removing insects nicely.

I know it's ridiculous, and completely gross. Stupid insects

I tried copious amounts of my Autoglym Rapid Detailer and it didn't do much - perhaps with the clay bar it'll be perfect. Thanks for the tip!

I love the simple 'clean-ness' of your car. You've inspired me to get the polisher out!

Clay bar will absolutely pull off any protection you have on the car. It's designed to pull out the dirt that has embedded itself in to the paint, of course it takes everything else off at the same time.

Maybe not these crystal hard coatings but definitely any sealant or wax.

Soak a couple of towels in water then lay this over the front of the car. This will rehydrate the bugs and soften them making removal much easier.

Exactly why i carry quick detailer, can put a bit of protection back on until you can give it another wax.

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it, but it was machine polished by a very talented pro. Took him and his buddy six hours working together.

Makes sense. That's okay, I can re-wax - I always top it up after a wash anyway.

This sounds like a really good idea, thanks for the tip!!

The man above is correct. I Use some strong kitchen towel or even J cloth but a large towel may be better, soak it then wring it a bit but not too much then lay it on the car where the bugs are, leave 5 mins and the bugs will wipe off. I do this to my helmet after being on the motorbike this time of year and it works a treat for the dried on insects

Very nice car btw!

And as it was a beautiful day and the neighbour's car was out, I couldn't resist a little photo
