How do you properly set up a bov? I recently got a ER CP with Tial bov. Don't know what spring I have or if I have everything correct.

hi guys.

removed the injectors today and found something very interesting

injector 1 was black

and injector 2 was oily with clean oil. I'm guessing that this was oil leaking in during the last oil change .must have dropped down from the fill hole.

rest of the injectors where fine but I bought 6 so changed all 6

unfortunately I messed up with one of the bolts that hold the pair of injectors and I broke it in the head.

will need to drill it out and re tap it with either a new bolt or go M8 instead. once it's fixed I think it will help with the white smoke

Did the injector change fix the smoking issue?

So the tial is actually not working properly causing the oil to be forced past the turbos and into the DPs??

No when a blow off valve doesn't open the air serges back and forth pushing the turbo wheel back and forth blowing the seals. This happened to my original set of stock turbos. I had to go two springs sizes down so it would blow off right.

Might have missed it, but do you plan on coding the new injectors? I imagine that's rather important as well...

Leaking valve cover gasket is often mistaken for spilled oil.

Am I the only one that is concerned with your #1 injector? Clearly you have combustion gasses leaking past the injector seal. In fact, the seal is basically gone. I hope it was just a bad seal and the new injector fixes it, otherwise it could be a bad cylinder head. Keep us posted.

Swapped all 6 and sorted the misfire but now have a new issue

Persistent Codes
2C9C Lambda probe heating in front of catalytic converter, input signal
2C9D Lambda probe heating in front of catalytic converter 2, input signal
2C9E Lambda probe heating behind catalytic converter, input signal
2C9F Lambda probe heating behind catalytic converter 2, input signal

At the moment the car is running lean and I suspect the DME isn’t receiving signals from the O2 sensors. Car idles normally but cannot be pushed due to the lack of fuelling which puts the JB4 into safe mode. During the valve cover installation, It may be that a connector was left loose or a fuse blew which controls the sensors. Needs more investigation.

I thought the same thought so I have cleaned the area and will drive and then inspect again to see if the oil returns

There is a fuse for o2 sensor heater circuit. Check for shorts in o2 sensor leads and replace fuse. Sorry I don't have the exact location but I have read differing information about the fuse being in the glove box fuse panel or the small fuse box in the dme enclose. I believe it is 30amp

Looks like the seal is missing if you didn't remove it.

You may want to consult with BeastMode335i. He just fixed his smoking issue, culprit was a blocked rear turbo oil drain. Here's his thread complete with pics and a video of the culprit:
