NEW PHOTOS!
This is using the actual material to be used in the production pod that everyone will be getting.

I also spent a few minutes running the wires and tubing correctly so you can see the fully "finished" look.

Hope you guys like it...

The major difference between this model and the final production unit is that the final units will have the leather texture just like the dash built into the mold, as well as it will not have the "hand sanded" look that this one has because of being molded direct from a hand made prototype.

I put the camera over my eyes to get the exact driver's perspective

I just went driving around for a while just to play with it... LOL
I can tell you that in 34 F degree ambient temps the stock car only boosts to 7.1 psi

The other day when it was warmer out, (50 or so) I was seeing 8.3. This is because bmw wanted to maintain the same performance under all conditions... it raises boost with hotter, thinner air, and lowers boost with thicker, colder air... Fun stuff...

The car also limits boost until its warmed up all the way... I couldnt get over 5.7 psi until my oil temp was above 150 or so... must be a safegaurd...

Well, all things considered, I am not sure how I would go about test fitting one... I guess I could just mold one to my passenger side? I beleive the cluster "bulge" would change things...

To go through the process of creating another set of molds, and never be able to actually test it, would be rather scary...

I've been suspecting this all winter long. With the gauge I will finally get some confirmatory data. Curious to see what the boost pressure is in subzero temperatures.

Ya, just hook the black wire on the gauge to the brown wire on the lighter, and hook BOTH the yellow and red wires on the gauge to the gray with red strip wire on the lighter.

This will cause the gauge to ONLY light up at night, just like the rest of the gauges in the car, and it will also dim from the stalk, with the rest of the gauges.
