Does everyone have lifter ticking for all these miles also with no issues?

I'm only at 140,000 miles on my 330i and have had no problems with lifter tick in the time I've owned the car. I've heard lifter tick usually resides in cars which are driven short distances (which probably wouldn't be on this high mileage fourm). But I'm interested to see if any high mileage e90s have the issue.

I just bought an 06 330xi 86k miles, ticks occasionally but due for fluids so was just curious, I have read they mostly all tick but seems to not lead to any issues even at higher miles.

Neither of the N52s I've had ever ticked except when they were due for an oil change.

I took my '07 to 205,000 miles. I did get lifter tick and the volume seemed to related to the age of the oil, garage temp, time between starts and how hard the car was being pushed in the last drive.

Living in Florida, good about maintenance, garage kept and usually drove in a spirited fashion, I rarely had noisy lifters.

Ticking issue was only early N52's 06-07 I think then they redesigned the head to eliminate the issue mostly.

To circle back to the transmission issue, I just replaced the solenoids in mine and the car seems to be running better. Check my post history for other threads regarding that. I know this thread is about the engine so i'll leave it at that, but if you experience shifting issues/codes/failsafe at higher mileages it is worth seriously considering replacing these parts to allow your trans to run a few more miles (instead of full teardown and rebuild).

I noticed these issues because I was always winding out the motor up to 6+k rpm. Thank bmw gods my engine is good! A well maintained n52 is a good engine.

08 328i ~40K miles. I only get some ticking when the oil is coming up to its change time. Just noticed some ticking this afternoon and I'm about 100miles over my typical change time.

I have a Nov. 2007-built N52 at 98,000 miles and the '06 325i at 380,000. Neither have ever ticked. Both get 10,000-mile oil changes.

Getting a weird clunk when the right rear hits something.

Ran it up on jacks and checked all the wheel mount points and all the bushings look good. The only thing of note is where the eccentric bolt is on the lower arm and that the axle shaft seems to be able to move very freely back and forth between the CV joints.

I've still got that whole axle / bearing / wheel carrier assembly for that side that I haven't installed since the bearing has never gone out like the other side.

I'm through working on my dad's truck that my mother gave me after he passed away. Will have more time this coming holiday weekend to get it up in the air. Definitely have to get it out of the shop before I start my next project.

Well, it seems I needed to check the bushing on the inside the car. One of them had split and if you got a hold of the top of the shock stem and pulled hard it would hit the inside of the mount hole. Still had the old one from when I put the B6's on it.

This is the bushing underneath the trunk liner?

E91's aren't as simple to access as the other E9x cars.

You have to disassemble half the rear interior to get at the fracking things.

Takes the better part of an hour of removing storage cover, batter cover, C pillar, seat belt cover, rollup cover attachment, strap anchor, side cover, etc.....

305k kms (~190k miles). Daily driven in Toronto, Canada

two surprise repairs:

one was a faulty transfer case, which was replaced at around 280k kms

The second which just happened this week, car vibrates signfiicantly when approaching 2k rpm, rough idle and rpm fluctuates when coasting/ driving at constant speed. Codes suggest the vanos sprockets may need to be replaced
