You mentioned that you aren't going to swap out anymore Hingis ? I think you meant things but this forum is full of jargon I don't get and I wanna be sure lol

I had a look at Hi Tech. They have a good rep indeed

Sounds nice but I'd want a deeper tone and even less rasp. Wonder what it costs though ... any idea?

Best sounding E series N55 IMO, Deep tone without a lot of rasp.

That kinda sounds raspy to me.

Yeah so quote was 5k lol

I'm hitting up a local shop to put a resonator between my muffler delete, see if that kills the drone like the PE does

Went and saw a local guy, spoke about the exhaust for about an hour and looked at it, booked in for this coming weekend to change my J pipes to a cross pipe, see if that does anything.

He is also pricing up a full system including new downpipe.

He said air speed was a contributor to drone and making the pipes smaller when they split into two for the muffler would be better to keep the speed up.

He basically said you need a muffler to kill drone.

Thinking about the X-Force Varex mufflers as they have the adjustable valves, unsure yet, all depends on price.

He also said for a deeper tone and less rasp to use mild steel instead of stainless, he said he prefers mild as its cheaper and has a better sound.

Might need to have it coated though

How big of an effect did the J-pipes have on drone, I don't mind drone, I just don't want a lot of it.

J pipes made a big difference, I would say they removed 70% of the drone.

I want to try a cross pipe to replicate what the PE and Stock Muffler has, by balancing the gasses and vibrations.

Will report back when its done.

Hey,

I decided to just do the PE mod to my stock muffler.

Haven't got it back yet, I need to find some exhaust tips to use.

I did ask my exhaust guy to measure the length of the cross pipe though.

From what I read if you do the PE mod and leave the inner perforation alone it works best, which means a connecting pipe between a muffler delete is likely not going to be 100% drone free.

Packing

I see multiple people re distribute the packing and even take it all out, does anyone know how much louder the exhaust gets with all of the stuffing/packing taken out? Also does it affect the tone at all, or just neglect the drone?

Just show the muffler shop the 2 minute YouTube video and they should be able to do it easily. It really isn't that hard if you have the tools. Don't pay more than $250. Doesn't necessarily have to be a popular shop.
