dyno variances are real. my car put down 339.8 rwhp with Stage 2 on a DynoJet with a stupid box fan blowing at the front of it, now it has Stage 3 and all the other crap that goes with it (OC, FMIC). it HAULS ASS. no dyno results yet post Stage 3 install. yeah, I paid a lot. F-it, that's why I went to grad school.

BUT, I paid a LOT less than $26,000.00, which is about what non-Dinan modded 335 owners pay when turbos disintegrate and shit can the entire motor, and BMW tells them to get bent.

All this is about is the fact that i wanted to varify that i got the power that i paid for and its not liek its off by 3 or 4 hp. Its off by "20HP!" Thats something to make a big deal about. If anyone else went to buy something and though you were buying one thing and then didnt get the full thing that you expected to get then you would be upset just like i am. Weather its in automotive, electronics or anything. When you pay a certain price for something, you want the product and the quality that you had the intentions of paying for. In this case i paid all this money for something thats supose to be 285 hp and it coming up short of 20hp at 365. Thats the bottom line of this.

Anyone can say what ever you want about any conditions or whatever you want to talk about. You would feel the same way if you didnt get what you should have. Bottom line.

This wasnt intended to compare other thing like i said before, it was just to give my input of my experience and so the rest of you could be informed.

Thats all this is... so with tht said, when i get this resolved tomorrow i will let you know what happened so the rest of you can expect know that Diana has great customer service to back any issues that come up or if they just want to move their products.

You are starting to sound retarded. You don't seem to understand what people are saying. you write the same thing in response to everyone's point. read what people wrote....think about it....and realize you have no claim.

goodnight

This is why I could never sell products to the general public. Even after 5 pages of people who kind of know what the deal is explaining it, he still just doesn't get the number on the dyno means nothing and is absolutely certain he got jipped.

There are so many variables from dyno to dyno (type of dyno, calibration, setup, weather, etc...) you cannot take the number it spits out as a dead on absolute measurement of power. Every dyno reads differently. Some read low some read high. Basically all you can do is use the curve for a before and after comparison.

BTW, are these corrected numbers you are bitching about or not? What are the standard corrected numbers?

And, exactly what are u trying to say?

Did you see my other $73k car (which my wife drives) in my Avatar?

Hey, my brother leases a loaded BMW 750iL, and he's not exactly poor either; we all have our reasons. You may want to keep those ridiculous comments to yourself.

This is my dyno with the Dinan stage 2 original. 335 WHP vs 284 stock (a 51 WHP Gain)

About what they advertised (and this was in hot and humid South Florida weather)

No complaints here, the tune is great.

I think that a 5% variance day to day, dyno to dyno, run to run would be expected and if you're putting out 350 hp thats an 18hp variance, which is what you're seeing so I think you are well within the error of the system.

I can't believe this thread is almost at 100 posts.....

Honestly, unless your dyno showed <30whp gain, you don't have much of a leg to stand on. Just one random dyno means nothing, without a point of comparison.

Within 20hp of cars with tunes that consistantly put out much higher HP really isn't bad. I wouldn't be disapointed if I were you. On other dynos we've seen bigger differences than 20hp between Dinan and Procede cars. You'd probably stay within 1 or 2 mph trap of those guys in a 1/4th.

Good call. I knew I went to grad school for a reason!

Speaking in Stg. III dyno...we need to hit Dallas Performance ASAP.

Glad to see lots of you guys have brains to realize this poster is a joker and most likely has zero experience tuning cars.

I have tuned all of my cars for the last 25 years and have family in the buisness.

You speculate 20hp loss. I can tweek the dyno to show you a 30+ gain over what you got, it doesnt matter variance is variance learn the math

thread should be locked, cant wait to see if DINAN replies to this

They wouldn't even entertain the idea of getting involved in such lunacy. They are detatched observers taking all of this in, laughing their asses off. They probably have a "Clown of the Day" bulliten board highlighting the lastest absurdity to transpire on e90post...

I'm trying to say that you have little invested in your car and/or have money to burn or risk and, in any case, are not concerned about possible damage from over-boost, warranty implications or limp mode warnings. But you do have a fast car.

Gator is right. The Dinan tune is slower in the 1/4. It's your choice - more expensive, slower with warranty or faster, cheaper with chance of voided warranty.

I didn't want to post, because I was hoping this stupid thread would just die, but since others are keeping it shamefully alive, then oh well.

It's a real crime to see a thread like this go on and see the whining taking place all over a very understandable 20 whp difference on some random dyno.

We have possible very legitimate issues with 29.2 + Dinan yet to be confirmed, and Dinan working on V81 and now they have to stop and by bothered by whining about this dyno. Makes me mad, since they could be working on responding to some other users with real potential issues.

bottom line is that I Spoke with dinan and they are not going to do anything about this. They basically told me that it is what it is and they will not do anything about it.
