i don't mind spending the money if they are the ones i like since jeans tend to last a long time and b/c of the fact that i've been having trouble finding a pair to my liking.

You bring up a good point. If you spend $40k+ on a luxury good, $200-$300 should be no big deal.

I'm sure the OP can afford a pair of seven jeans, but is probably sticker shocked after life-long purchases of $20-$40 pants from the likes of Target and Mervins.

This is the same marketing approach Gillette took with razors, they were giving the damn things away until they came up with Mach3, then they started charging $15 for a razor blade. Levi's themselves were caught with their pants down when this new "designer" denim became all the rage, now Levi's also has a "designer" line to compete with these newcomers.

yes i can afford them. since i am picky about clothes, cost is not a huge issue if it means spending more to wear soemthing that fits and feels the way i want it to. I usually don't look at the brand but how it fits and feels. If there are two items comparable then of course i'll get the less expensive one. The pair of jeans i wear now I bought from macys. The target jeans felt like sandpaper, 200 grit

i believe the fit i found to be most comfortable from hugo boss was labeled "texas" or something along those lines...not sure if they still carry that particular style though (they didn't have it the last time i was at valley fair). if you were willing to make the drive to downtown sf, the hugo boss up here has a better selection to choose from.

if you get sevens, make sure is "seven for all man kind" and not "7Seven" or whatever the discount brand is.
