I've reread some of your post and you are right about one thing that I didn't catch earlier.. It works great when transmitting ascii data between two devices. I was able to do this with no problems with pin 7 & 8 tied together.
Throw in the procede and I'm back to square one. Gary |

How are you certain that a wifi solution will work?

I'm certain because RailGun has done it and posted the model that works and the link to purchase it. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=wifi+procede BTW, the new bluebooth stack I'm using is working better. I can see the CTS and RTS being turned on/off. I never saw this when using the broadcomm stack. Doesn't bring me any closer, but it's nice to see feedback when I'm connecting from the procede reader. I got none (at least from CTS/RTS). I did see flickering LEDs on the data line with the boardcomm stack, but sometimes I see it and sometimes I don't... so who knows... Was specifically thinking a RS232-Bluetooth setup (not back-to-back), but wifi too for that matter. If a wifi setup works, we know that virtual com ports can work and a "real" com port is not required by the Reader software. So problem is either with the particular BT virtual-com port implementation (SPP), or with the GBS301. Here's another one that does v2.0, has onboard LEDs, and is low power. Lower price here.
This bluetooth usb does not even use a bluetooth stack - it just presents a virtual com port. I'm thinking either just one of these two, or both together might work. Last edited by zenmaster; 10-23-2008 at 11:16 PM.. |
