I love how you went from "why am I doing this" to "fuck it we're doing it baby!" in a matter of 4 posts. I respect that. Start a separate build thread with pics if you haven't already. Sounds like a dope car.

Went with the Wavetrac (complete 3.08 pumpkin from Diffsonline) and retrofitted a 650i finned diff cover. Did the install last weekend on ramps in the garage. Pretty straight forward but the 50mm driveshaft nut was a gigantic pain in the ass.
Phenomenal improvement but am still breaking it in. Should have done this 8 years ago when I got the car. Shame on BMW for not making this a factory option. |

Yeah they didn't want it to compete with the m3 which makes sense. At least there are plenty of diff options now.

Glad i found this thread, as I've started on track upgrades for 2008 N54 335i generally following https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/ar...ble-track-car/
I've tackled the "front" so far with m3 control arms, sway bar, fixed 2.5 camber plates to fit square 18x9.5" ET35 with 265/35. Upgraded intercooler, downpipes, chargipe as a side project. I hope I only need to install the rear sway bar and "race" align the car for this season. Need to plan the "rear" project and there is good info here. I want an LSD next. |

as someone who is on the road to getting their e90 drift spec, i think it’s because of the complexity. You have to think about a lot of things, flammable materials (windshield wiper fluid delete), ac delete (have to relocate pulley) there’s just a lot. It’s also super prone to breaking

I am on my way to building e90 328i track toy as well. Picked it up for next to nothing with 106k with a dead clutch.
So far this is a list of things I am planning to do since I have some of these parts laying around from past cars. - Euro Airbox - Silicone elbow - N54 oil filter housing with thermostat and oil cooler - 3.73 diff from an auto - Tuner fixed camber plates - Bilstein PSS10 coilovers - TRmotorsports C4 with 245/40/17 RS4 tires - Remove CDV during clutch replacement - Pair of Recaro SRD seats up front Debating on which brake pads and likely using ATE200 for brake fluid. Headers and Milvs later on down the road if I get that deep into it. Simple enough build to just have fun with it. Last edited by sunnyjay; 03-03-2023 at 02:59 AM.. |

Yeah I think the manual e9X and 1 series platform has potential to be the next track toy car for people. Similar to what the non-M e46 is becoming.
So umm...I may have done a thing
